Should all Thai officials, including the PM, be banned from entering Western Democracies?
The US at one time required foreign nationals to notify the government of any address change through a post card every year. I remember seeing PSA maybe as late as the 1980s notifying aliens of this requirement. Like everything else with US immigration, however, it eventually became another ignored requirement. -

Trump has lost the plot.
That's true, along with trying to get foreign investment back... but it's about trust/sentiment/confidence, and China has lost that for multiple reasons since Covid. Even the Chinese people are not spending, just saving or trying to get their money out of China because it's all going south... sentiment/confidence etc. is a fragile thing and once it's gone it's very hard to get back. The CCP has brought this about and must accept the reality, unless they will do a U-turn on much... but that's very unlikely as it would be a loss of face and they might lose what the Chinese call "The heavenly mandate", which is super important. It reminds me of stuff like when Moa decided to order that all swallows be killed and other such hair-brained policies that led to disaster... history does indeed repeat itself. The CCP hasn't yet realised that you can't have it both ways... Deng was the one that put China onto the right path, and all that followed up to Ho Jintao follow on with these policies, making China what it was 7-8 years ago, very prosperous... then Xi tanked it with a return to Moaism and control freakery... which needless to say is very negative to growth and business. Add to that, China does GDP growth different to the rest of the world, Beijing decides how high it will be, then tasks local government to make it happen... hence the debt mess with LGFVs to appease Beijings demands. Nobody wants to invest in China now until Xi is gone or the CCP collapses... even Chinese companies are fleeing to avoid all the tariffs. Doesn't bode well for Beijing on many fronts. -

Thai income tax (for over 180 days)
It's not the transfer that is tax, it is the underlying earnings or taxable event, whilst you are in Thailand for more than 179 days. If in Thailand for more than the 179 days, you may have surrendered fiscal domicile to Thailand, so anything you remit to Thailand, from those periods may be potentially taxable, in the.yaers going forward, when remitted to Thailand. ( memo POR 162 gives some exemptions for prior to 1st Jan 2024) If tax resident outside Thailand, and pay tax to, say your home country, and you are in Thailand less than 179 days, not Thai tax relavant, whenever remitted to Thailand. In a lot of cases (eg UK ) best to be in that status, for the likes of property sales and the like. These are the guidelines, as I understand them, not to be taken as fact! But generalisation of what papertrail proof , to create.... -
