You can’t have it both ways, you complain when they are there and now they have left you are crying

Thai standard operating procedure (SOP) not just for Israeli's but for all farangs.

Complain when they're here, cry went they feel unwelcome and then leave.

Those business owners will likely be pleased they have dispersed.

So nothing for them to complain about then why would it be

Why would I have a “No ISREALIS” sign?

I don’t have a business here.
Maybe the business owners in Pai can take all their signs down now?

Sounds like they will be replacing them with "Israelis welcome here" .

Come back, all is forgiven

No, those business owners will be pleased I would imagine.

If you are going to take the effort to post a sign banning Israelis they don’t want them obviously.

Other business owners might be disappointed but Thais usually don’t dwell to much

Got a friend who lives in Lopburi who had land up their to build a place for retirement.

After recent visits they've decided to sell the land.

They say the place is ruined, not just by tourists but profit seeking greedy locals.

So they themselves are part of the greedy locals that are selling land for obscene prices

It isn’t better either.

Agree.

Even though I have not travelled Malaysia very well, I still have some impression, from my experience in the past.

Firstly, their food isn't so nice; Thailand is a lot better in eats(wider range of dishes and sweets).

One best thing about this kingdom is, even the low-end food is tasty and filling.

At local markets, I can pick up delicious light meal(steamed sticky rice and grilled chicken/ or pork on stick at THB15-).

Not in Malaysia.

Are they banned from Malaysia?
I didn’t see that sign.

For a long time now. (I think not permitted to visit is better than "banned")

You have obviously never met any tourists from Russia, China, Kuwait, Nigeria, India, UAE, Pakistan, or Saudi Arabia.

I have never noticed Thai businesses with signs banning any of those tourists.

If you google you will find a lot of countries “not permit” them.

Great having a UK passport, we are welcomed all over the world.

As it was Pai, its quite likely that the businesses were half foreign owned and the foreign owners were either Muslims or anti Semites and they just didn't want Jews in their shops

Its not that Israelis are banned , oits that Malaysia doesn't recognise Isreal as a Country  and so people with an Israel passport cannot enter .

But Israelis can enter Malaysia on any other passports they have

Can Israelis enter Malaysia now? Do you know something I don't?

"You can enter any time you want, ~ ~ ~

But You Can Never Leave!!!"

(Laying Down an Israeli Passport at Malaysian Entry Customs, Might make an Interesting Video For X-Twitter.)

yeah no.

but just keep spreading the nonsense. for the last decade and a half Pai has been attracting investment from Bangkok. To suggest the backlash against poor Israeli behavior is Muslim-based and specifically anti-Semitic is asinine.

Thailand has a long history of tension with the bad behavior of Israeli tourists. Many bungalows and resorts soft-banned Israeli backpackers fresh from the army for being rude, arrogant, and insensitive.

it has just come around again this time fuelled by a different demographic escaping the conflicts.

I do seem to recall that it was just one coffee shop in Pai that had a "No Israeli" sign .

Do you know who the owners of that shop were ?

Would Muslims or Anti Semites want Jews on their business ?

I dont think that they would

oh really?

I feel no need to explain the point is you either understand or you don't.

There are some people who will literally believe  that 15 000 Israelis are building bungalows on KPG  .

Thais should be careful what they wish for, they never stop complaining about one nationality or the other, they can all walk away from Thailand, When covid they were crying on their knees and begging,

Longtime Pai locals likely got along just fine before any tourists to speak of ever showed up...i would bet they will also get along just fine if the tourist and the thais who showed up to hustle tourists all disappear as well.

More people does not always equate with happier locals.  Ask the folks in Barcelona and Venice who liked the money until it became not worth the cost.
