Some fees

https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/rate/pages/default.aspx

And then still not mentioned QR payment with app.

What is the application fee for the PAY & TOUR prepaid card and e-Wallet?

No prepaid card/ e-wallet application fee

as shown application fee, but how much?

Probably why Wise isnt doing debits/ e-wallet in Thailand because of plan Kasikorn.

Show me the moneyyy

You know what, just keep doing cash

anything like this solely aimed at tourists

you know its going to be garbage and your going to get a poor deal

like a tourist sim garbage

the chinese have several apps that work in thailand s they will not be using it
i use malaysia touch ngo app open for citizens and visitrs as long as you have a malay number
they also issue a visa card with the app for a fee nominal

so this app is only for westerners as usual Thailand

i use google wallet in tops and other that faciltate it.

SO JUST READ its real crap kasikorn garbage

BETTER with TRUE MONEY APP
works with Prompt Pay

Much easier to load small amounts ash at 711 etc

i link my wise to them to reload
i find they usually take 1% if cash top up voucher
even a bank transfer may take 1%
Digital is convenient but its the old story cash is king a dollar is a dollar
i suppose retailers feel like that with visa/mastercard because they lose to that

If this is really not expensive (conversion fees, ...) and you can pay easy PromptPay QR codes, then I think this could be helpfull for tourists.

Other option described above TrueMoney and other options often not work on small shops. but QR codes works with most sellers. I know a few better shops, where you only can pay with QR or credit card. At least, when the conversion rates are not too bad, you could choose a good day to transfer some money and then use it. Also you not have to carry that much money with you arround... and if you need cash, you can use the K-Bank ATM for withdrawal some money when needed.

I not see this for people who stay in Thailand, but for tourists I not see this as something bad.

I think this is not related, as this is aimed more for tourists, and they can have a Wise debit card already (if it's available in their homecountry).

You can't have a Wise card, if you live in Thailand, but I already used at least 1 time a Wise debit card in thailand to pay a bill.
And one of my friends uses his wise card all the time in Thailand, so I think it's working as normal as any other debit/credit card.

But I can tell you, that you are not allowed to order a card as long you have a thai address in wise!

You're wrong about TrueMoney, because the TrueMoney app cannot only be used for TrueMoney payments, but ALSO for PromptPay QR code payments.

I use it for both, and it works everywhere.

OK, I never tried to use true money for Promptpay (I have to try).

But even the TrueWallet App is not easy to use for tourists. Can you put a foreign credit card behind? Or how you recharge money without a Thai-Bank account or Thai credit card?

You can top up TrueMoney with cash (Thai baht) at 7-11. There's no fee.

So I think it's superior to Tagthai (what this topic is about), because Tagthai forces you to exchange foreign currency at Kasikorn Bank to top it up. If you prefer to use an exchange like SuperRich or ATM withdrawals, there's no way (yet?) to top up Tagthai with Thai baht.

OK, if you can top it up at 7-11, then I also agree, that this would be easier... As you could use the much better Exchange rate to the Bank rates give by K-Bank.

I only use True Wallet with a credit card... I never used money in the wallet option 🙂

Thanks for clarification and sorry for my misinformation!

Sounds like some payment systems that some of the banks have already set up for tourists.

K bank has a card or account you can get by depositing foreign currency.  It's for tourists.  It's an account that you can use to pay bills and whatnot, but the money in the account is foreign currency, and is subject to fluctuations.  So, if you put in US dollars and the value of those dollars is somehow cut in half, there goes half your money.

What I need is some simple way to pay utility bills with just the QR code.  I would like to use Thai baht, and I would like to do this from an account that is separate from my main Thai bank account.

You are wrong! TrueMoney only works with vendors who accept it. It isn't like a scan to pay by PromptPay with a Thai banking app.

Nonsense. I use the TrueMoney app for PromptPay payments all the time. As I wrote, it can be used for both.

Have a look at the payment categories you can get TrueMoney coins for on the screenshot below. "PromptPay Merchants" is one of them.
