MDs: Scientists, Idiots, Artists, or what? Will AI fix the Practice-of-Medicine, soon?

Dear Folks,

 

My question is:

 

Are today’s doctors, the ones without PhD-degrees, basically….

 

Scientists?

Idiots?

Artists?

 

Or, then….what?

 

Can you guess what I mean by this question?

 

And, if you can, then do you believe that, with the coming New Age of AI, we will stamp out the doctor of today…who is an idiot and an artist?

 

And, will we FINALLY have healthcare practitioners who are not both idiots and artists?

 

I do not know about you, but I would far prefer to entrust my own healthcare to an AI of the near future, rather than to any Artist-Idiot MD, of today.

 

Doctors of today are either IDIOTS or SCAMMERS for relying on Big Pharma to tell them how to practice medicine, more often than they should,…and…..THIS….is all that I am implying.

 

I am not implying that most doctors are true idiots, since we know that they must know a BIT about medicine….RIGHT?

What might a doctor-office visit be like when, once the patient enters the Doctor’s Office Arena, then most decisions concerning diagnostics were based on the most modern protocols?

 

These days, though, one can go to a dozen different hacks, and get a dozen different answers to the solution of one’s physical or mental complaints.

 

These days of so much UNSCIENTIFIC UNCERTAINTY are defo COMING TO AN END, my friends.

 

And, I say:

 

Hallelujah….!

 

The dark days of quackery are just about….AT AN END…if only….

 

We can get AI set up right.

 

A new dawn of Science-Based medicine is upon us…IF…only…

We can get it right.

 

Very soon, we will achieve Consistent, Science-based, and much cheaper medicine for the masses. And, we will also see much improved medicine for the rich, too….but…(who cares about the stinking rich, right?  I, for one, do not!!!!)

 

Just wait another year or two, and we will see this happen.

 

Soon, we will have more egalitarian healthcare for both the rich and poor, and it will all be based on science, and it will be a blessing to all mankind.

 

Even, the likes of Tiny Tim, of Dickens fame, will benefit, no matter where he might live in the world of today.

I have also thought about this topic. 

Presumably AI will work only in the best interests of people and will not be corrupted to be profit-driven as is the case currently with the medical system.

 

Then it's quite possible that the future of medicine will look very different, where corruption will be stamped out. 

 

Also, you can query AI and it will have access to all the latest science, whereas your local doctor may not be up to date with everything. 

 

Also, regarding surgeries, even the best surgeons might make mistakes and only be perfect 99 per cent of the time. But a robotic surgeon might be better than the best surgeons in the world and available in every corner of the world.

 

Medicine will get interesting with AI.

Well since the 1970,'s   the robots were supposed to have all this sorted by now but I still  have to get up and do things that were slated for robots to perform like make breakfast !

Unfortunately, human beings will likely skew the AI algorithms for various reasons.  They're already doing that now for political purposes, and I'd be willing to bet the drug companies will have a say as to suggested treatment protocols.  The problem is bigger than just drug companies, though. Consider the food industry.  Look at the mess that's in, at least in the USA.  Processed and ultra-processed food. Seed oils. Chemical additives, poisonous dyes. The "food pyramid."  It's all driven by money, not health.  

 

I'd be inclined to possibly trust AI for diagnostic purposes, but I'd stop there.  Treatment is another matter.

Maybe we can never fully trust AI?

 

So assuming Big Pharma is controlling AI ... but I just asked ChatGPT a question and it's not censoring information that is contrary to Big Pharma or what your doctor tells you, except it urges you to consult your doctor.

The Chat GPT thing is just a toy at this point, I think.  

 

Have you ever looked at some of the current Medical AI diagnostic bots?  The few I've looked at seemed pretty good.  At a minimum, they point you in the right direction.  I was just trying them out, but I wasn't about to "subscribe" to anything, so I didn't play with them too long. 

 

For one, you input symptoms and it goes from there, asking you questions. That continues and it eventually comes up with probable diagnoses, by percentage of probability.  I assume that's all based on peer reviewed studies and the data shown in those studies.  As always, asking the right questions is the hard part.  Finding the answer is simple. 

 

Another one I saw was slightly different, and seemed a bit less intuitive, but the results were similar.

I played with a few online.  I might be able to find the links again.  One was more for consumers and the other was aimed at medical professionals.  I'll see what I can find.

Actually, Elon's device for attaching electrodes to the brain is already far faster than any human surgeon.  And, humans cannot match its accuracy.

 

The surgery being done on the brain is impossible for a human.
