For those who continually decry so-called "leftists" and "socialism", here's some MAGA socialism from Trump himself:

This is welfare for Big Ag while Musk cuts Medicaid for the poor. Clearly he's not looking to cut spending or help the working class.

Trump says he ‘couldn’t care less’ if foreign automakers raise prices due to tariffs

Donald Trump will begin to bring down prices beginning on Day One, he said.

Looks like MAGA wins another "award". 😁

I am a far-left-wing liberal and consider myself a socialist. Trump, IMO, is definitely not a socialist. He's an ultra-right-wing capitalist.

It isn't classical socialism. It's Trump socialism. You know, rob the poor to give to the rich.

Socialism is when the government (The people) own the means of production.

I’m trying to figure out what you mean by rob the poor and give to the rich.  Please explain yourself,

Tump's tariffs are very regressive taxes that will impact the lower and middle classes disproportionately in order to give large tax cuts to to the wealthy, plus he's giving money to Big Ag to counteract the effects of his tariffs.

When MAGAs rail against things like Medicare for all they cry "Socialism", even though it does not involve the state owning the means of production. This is Trump Socialism. Take money from the poor and give it to the wealthy.

Tariffs are being used to give tax cuts to the wealthy?   Really?  When did this happen?

Yes, one of the purposes of the Trump tariffs is to generate revenue that is lost by tax cuts that will accrue primarily to the wealthy. Whether it will actually accomplish that is another matter.  This is part of Project 2025.

Do you even understand the changes in the tax brackets?

Somewhere around forty percent of households don't make enough money to pay Federal income taxes. They won't get any benefit from tax cuts but will pay higher prices for goods due to the Trump tariffs. Many will also face cuts to their Medicaid.

Whether anyone will receive a big enough tax cut to outweigh the extra cost imposed by the tariffs is another question, but if there are such taxpayers, they won't be from the lower and middle classes.

If they don’t pay taxes, then none of this matters.

Medicaid needs to be see cuts.

You don't care that poor people have to pay higher prices due to the tariffs? Tariffs are a very regressive tax and that's why the wealthy like them.

Yeah, take Medicaid away from the poor and kick them to the curb where they belong, huh?

The farming sector in the US has major political influence, via lobby groups and the Farm Bill.

Without bailouts, farmers would be marching on Washington, mad as hell.

In Trump's last term, bailouts were necessary because China stopped importing a range of farm products from America.

Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing repeatedly, and expecting a different result.

Go back to history class.  USA not Australia.

Farmers have always had bailouts and subsidies..

I think that's a 2 sided problem. Yes, a lot goes into health insurance. But why is it so expensive? Because US healthcare is over the top expensive. So if Trump did what he promised (cut the cost of medication and healthcare), then it would make sense to lower the funding of Medicaid, as less could still cover all the expenses associated with it. So as a big picture - it somewhat makes sense. But the bits and pieces of it, especially how they are communicated... not so much. Actually, his tariffs and sticking nose into what he doesn't understand is making costs even higher.

The big picture is overall not bad. And even CNN posted something that mostly confirmed what Kennedy said was not far off on research. It is indeed interesting, but personally, I don't think much will happen in this direction because... well... people are addicted to junk.

Corporate welfare isn't "socialism."  They are transfer payments out of the pockets of working class to corporations who fund the Republican machine.  That's grift.  Now "socialism."

When did he say that?

Through the lens of your distorted lying media outlets, maybe.

When he said that kids would have to settle for two dolls or five pencils for Christmas.

Perhaps Fox News didn't report on that.

He's not meant to be taken entirely at face value.

Although the cost of goods are up, so yes people may need to trim the fat.

But I don't have much sympathy for low income families who have 5 children and then blame the govt when money is tight.
