There is a whole new way of getting a quart into a pint pot so to speak.

CATL have come up with a new way to get more electrons moving in and out of lithium batteries and which also seems to allow greater density of chemically reactive components into the same volume of battery.

This technology improvement is said to give a BEV (battery electric vehicle) a range in the order of 400 miles (643 kM).

These new batteries could help solar ESS also because they will be smaller and fewer in number which, in theory, should make ESS less costly.

The fly in the ointment, there's always one of them, is that this new technology is unlikely to be in mass production 'til the end of this year.
