Nurse Suspended After Refusing to Use Preferred Pronouns for Transgender Sex Offender

I can only be thankful the nurse wasn't a middle aged white male or we'd need to release another terrorist to free up a jail cell.

I can relate to that. In my last decade of nursing I had to refuse to be alone with a female patient in a room with the door closed more than once, and I had to be extremely careful of what I said as any "transgression" would have seen me in serious doodoo. Even reading a magazine with a female in a bikini on the cover had me attacked by one feminazi.

I started my nursing career on a children's ward. By the time I left nursing I would never have even considered working on a children's ward.

In the NHS it became so barking, that even female nurses were banned from giving children a hug if they were distressed.

That's not why she is in trouble. Did you read all the posts?

She's in trouble because she refused to use a certain pronoun right ?

I'm not too concerned with what posters here think about it all. Only the forced speech aspect.

She's in trouble for discussing the criminal within his hearing. You'd be shocked if you knew what staff say about patients outside their hearing.

For using the wrong pronoun. That's the only part that matters for me.

I'm sure you have many stories.

She was foolish for discussing the criminal within his hearing.

I, as any nurse, have enough stories to fill a book. Most would make unpleasant reading, which is why there are so few- not enough sales.

Did you just assume their pronoun ?

So the  UK nurse is supposed to drop to the same level of mental disorder as her patients?

The world has become strange.

No, nurses are expected and required to accept every patient as they are and provide the best service they can regardless of the patients druthers. While I think the entire fiasco is a nonsense, if she can't provide an unbiased service for every patient, she should consider if she is in the right trade. Whatever her personal opinions of that patient, she should have kept them to herself within his hearing. In this situation, she is the author of her own misfortune.

So my statement WAS correct.  Thanks

Humor and rhetoric.

OK.

Not much for the nurse to laugh about. She made a fundamental mistake and is going to suffer for it. While I think she is to be supported, in the real world she is probably going to lose. The nurses review board love to penalise nurses. I had to pay insurance every year to get legal help if I had made such a mistake. I was lucky and never did, but I could easily have needed it.

The humor is how asinine this whole story is. Forced speech goes above and beyond one's rights in society.

The US is not the UK. Wrong to group them all together

Not if it was the statement about mental disorders. Perhaps you posted another that I missed.

The tranny pedo has a mental disorder.  Sorry if you haven’t figured that fact out yet.  Perhaps some day.

Well done girl, the push back is starting.

Hope she gets reinstated soon.

Don't see why religion has to have anything to do with it.

But that's ok with me , if it stops the Uk Rot.

On my training course there was another male that had previously been a banker, decided to help people rather than exploit them.

Poor bxgger.

The world as we know it is not set up to assist those who want to better it.

Kudos to the guy for effort!

Sure.

But it's an agenda; it's not supposed to make any kind of sense.

You know little about it. Medicine is chocka with people judging others. They just don't normally do so within the hearing of the judged.

I experienced a case where an abused child came onto the ward and all the female staff decided the father did it because he looked unusual, but it wasn't him doing the abuse- it was the mother.

Regardless, treat the patient respectfully. They do not get to change the care based on judgements and prejudices.

Not really. It was the first religion that sprung to mind when you posted...

Is there a mainstream religion whose belief system affects so many aspects of their daily life as Islam? I'm not sure, let me look into it in more depth and if I am wrong I will do my best to report back and I will be sure to apologize profusely for my assumption about the group you were referring to.

Right. It was the first religion that came to YOUR mind. In other words, you were reading something into it that has nothing to do with me, yet you accuse me of being Islamophobic….

Nurses should treat every patient in the proper manner, even if not respected. Personal opinions have no place in nursing.

Where her charges brought up for not giving adequate health care or just using the wrong pronoun that the tranny pedo felt uncomfortable with?
