Of course.  It's one drunken idiot and a crowd of mostly Thais encouraging him.  Noting is done to deescalate or defuse, and he doesn't actually get violent with anyone, but eventually one security guard, who shouldn't get violent with anyone, punches him.  As soon as he is down, loads of Thais (who he has not harmed and he is no threat to) rush in to attack him while he is vulnerable.  They even attack his friend who had only been trying to calm the guy down.  If they had not been stopped, they might have killed him, and there was likely a racial element to their anger and desire to harm him.

I'm not sure how you can not think this makes Thais and Thailand look bad.

He had already assaulted a woman bar worker, deserved everything he got.

Even the girls got involved and a Farang.

The Thai's were absolutely out of order here.

I have watched the video and found it disgusting.

Thailand IS NOT a safe place to travel.

Deep down they hate our guts and only want our money.

Oh come on! He picked a girl up and made her dance with him, then he goaded a security guard. That's death penalty stuff in most countries... 🤔

My wife tells me that Thai news is reporting him as being Russian

Has the nationality of the trounced tourist ever been confirmed?  Is he indeed Russian?

I know yeah... should have had his hands chopped off... 😅

These Thai security thugs need locking up - most are ex cons anyway and are used to the revolving steel doors of the big tiger...

I'm waiting for the day that 10 Thai "security guards" head in for the kill on a foreigner they plan to gang-beat and find John Wick.
"Are you not entertained now!" Well - I've got a long wait methinks.

Saw a vid years ago , Thai mob chased a foreigner on Soi Nana in Bangkok. He stopped, turned around, and kicked several Thai asses. The rest of the mob then left him alone.

Sorry, but I am not sure because my wife says there have been conflicting reports regarding his nationality. I don't think he has been to the police to report the incident, which is when we would find out for sure.

the taunting went on for over 10 minutes.

they had plenty of time to just call the police.

They did call the police, they were too slow, probably due to a lack of police, being busy and no one wanting to work and getting soaked.

The guy was from Isreal, not sure if it was answered already

Kudos to the idiot for saving someone from that line of work.

Who the hell goes out in public with no shirt on?  He deserved to be decked just for that.

you do realize that it was in the midst of a nationwide water fight, yeah?

If Mom had caught me out in public with no shirt like that, first she'd have decked me, then she'd have slapped me again for trying on that excuse.

The guy got what he deserved. However, the bouncers here should be trained to restrain rather than retaliate. After that bouncer's punch, if the drunk guy had hit his head and died, the bouncer would've been in a load of trouble. Therefore, it's also for the bouncers benefit to be less aggressive. After all he's paid to keep the peace. Saying that, I enjoyed seeing the pillock get knocked on his ass.

How is it possible to assault the lady's down this road? It is them that do the assaulting....and the staff and the security....it's a big fat robbing machine designed by some very ugly people...avoid soi 6 , cowboy....only Patpong is well managed.

What an as@hole. What did he think was going to happen.

By the way, never get in fights with Thais. They have a mob mentality and pretty soon a bunch of them will be on you.

A drunken incident by a foreign tourist ended in swift retribution after he assaulted a female bar worker and mocked Muay Thai, only to be knocked down by a bouncer and then roughed up by a furious crowd. The incident, which occurred late on 15 April, has since gone viral on social media and sparked widespread debate about tourist behaviour in Thailand.

According to police reports and multiple eyewitness accounts, the tourist, accompanied by another intoxicated foreigner, entered a Pattaya bar, in Soi 6 and began behaving aggressively. The man was seen groping a female staff member and lifting her off the ground, causing her head to strike an air-conditioning unit. Another employee, a newly hired female server, was also reportedly harassed and has since refused to return to work.

The bar’s two security guards, identified as “Non”, 36, and “Nick”, 37, attempted to defuse the situation and escort the men out of the venue. The manager, a woman named “Phrae”, 37, also stepped in to calm things down. Despite these efforts, the tourists continued to harass customers and staff, ultimately pouring beer over a guard’s head in a provocative act.

Matters escalated when the disruptive foreigner began challenging people to a Muay Thai fight, further taunting the guards and patrons. It was at this point that one of the bouncers lost patience and delivered a single punch to the man’s face, knocking him off his feet. Bystanders, both Thai nationals and other foreigners, then joined in, delivering additional blows as the man lay stunned on the ground.

Police were called, and the incident is now under investigation by officers at Pattaya City Police Station. Deputy Inspector Pol. Lt. Arut Saphanon confirmed that CCTV footage has been reviewed and statements have been taken from the bar’s staff. The foreign nationals involved have yet to file a formal complaint or report to authorities.

The bar has voluntarily closed its doors temporarily as a gesture of accountability and to allow for a thorough investigation. Local officials, including Bang Lamung district officers, have visited the premises and praised the venue’s cooperation.

In a statement, the security guards expressed regret that the situation escalated to violence but asked for public understanding, citing the extreme provocation they faced. “We tried everything to avoid a confrontation,” one said. “But after the assault and continued harassment, we had to protect ourselves and others.”

Every day such incidents, look beyond these single cases, the root cause is the opening of flood gates at the very beginning, the airports at the countries where they people leave their country.

No free entry, simple e-visa application, done in 10 minutes, but 100% proof of a significant income or bank statement, e.g. let's say $40.000. Guess what ? Gone is flood of trouble seekers, walking tattoo panels, non-valeurs, alcoholist, jobless, schizophrenia, intoxicated boxing fanats, fake good sellers, cyber crime amateurs. Yes, I know some champagne in the pool Russians will still come, but they stick together in places I won't go.

TAT wants Pattaya to become the Saint Tropez of SE Asia. However, now comes the problem ... the hosts are not in style to become a Saint Tropez either. ST does not have a Walking Street, bars and bargirls. I learned Pattaya is as it is because the people who come to work there have the same life style in their home villages, it is not the innocent girl of Isaan comes to Pattaya and changed over there. She was always like that. Just visit the festivals in East Thai villages, it is Pattaya in mini format.

I therefore think the Thai officials believe of making Pattaya a luxury, mondaine seaside resort, getting rid of the thugs, is a very difficult mission.

I am suppose there is a flat fee of 500 Baht for the criminal record clearance. Possibly with a monthly maintenance fee.

Spoken with absolute ignorance of the hostess scene. LOL
