A 34-year-old musician has died after falling from a building in Bangkok’s Wang Thonglang district early morning of 17 Aptil.

At approximately 06:30 Pol. Col. Pornthawee Somwong, superintendent of Chokchai Police Station, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Phonkrit Thippayatsanan, deputy superintendent, dispatched a police patrol to investigate the incident.

The body of the man, later identified as Mr. Jatupol, was discovered lying in a pool of blood on the mezzanine level of the third floor of a building in the area. A security guard, Mr. Serm, was the first to report the incident.

Initial investigations revealed that the deceased was a professional musician. Friends of Mr. Jatupol told police that he had previously spoken about suicidal thoughts. A search of his apartment revealed a quantity of illegal drugs as well as prescription medication for depression.

Authorities suspect that the incident may be linked to mental health issues. Despite his surname’s similarity to that of a prominent individual, police confirmed that Mr. Jatupol had no familial connection to any high-ranking police or military officers.

Police have coordinated with forensic experts and a medical examiner to determine the official cause of death. Investigations are ongoing.
