Hello.

I am owner of a condo unit in Bangkok which got lot of damages from the earthquake (mainly craks on walls).

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) can offer assistance up to 49,500 baht.

To claim assistance, we have to :

1. Request form for the certificate of disaster

2. Copy of the daily report from the local police station

3. Copy of ID card / Passport (for foreigners)

4. Copy of house registration

5. Copy of condominium title deed

6. Floor plan indicating the damaged area

7. Photos of the damaged

I can provide all these document.

I have a house registration (blue book) but is is empty with no name. Will this be suitable or do I need to provide additional documentation ?

Any experience with this ?

I had to google the part you bolded... seems weird.. I wonder why they do that ?

"The blue or yellow tabien baan is not an important document for foreigners and most foreigners owning a condominium or a house (separate from the land) will have a (empty) blue house registration book and not a yellow book. The legal value for foreigners is very limited and generally there is no need or requirement to exchange a blue tabien baan for a yellow tabien baan. A yellow book does not confer any additional rights. However, foreigners married to a Thai national living in Thailand should have their name in the house book of the marital home. For Thais a house book's primary function is that it states his or her place of legal residence."

I read in the line group of a condo which has damages, that you need to prove your residency.

Don't think and empty blue book would help with that.

I give up already reading what is needed and required, I'd just pay it myself. What you gonna do with cracks in the first place, just fill them up and repaint it, costs what, 2-4k baht. Not sure maybe if i really had 40-50K damages for real it be worth it.

Complete BS, it is about ownership.

For the most common type of damage (wall cracks etc) the compensation is absurdly low - I think there's a sliding scale beginning at around 75 baht.

Do you think a foreign owner who doesn't live in Thailand will get subsidized by the Thai government? Think before you call BS.

I guess you are right.

Where can foreigners who live in Thailand apply for free healthcare and discounted BTS rides? Also a 10,000 handout  baht would come in handy.

It doesn't say anywhere that proof of residence is required, and neither said the OP that he doesn't live in Thailand

I told you that it was mentioned in my Line chat from a number one condo residence committee.

So it was mentioned in your line chat that the OP doesn't live in Thailand?
