Report Single Mother and Children Flee Due to Harassment from Neighbouring Tenant

In a distressing situation, a single mother and her three children have been forced to relocate from their home in Nonthaburi for their safety after experiencing threats, harassment, and assault from a neighbouring tenant. The heart-wrenching incident was shared on social media, spotlighting the need for robust protections against such alarming behaviours.

 

The ordeal unfolded on April 18, around 10:24 PM, near the dormitory in Soi Liang Mueang Nonthaburi 10, Bang Kraso, involving 34-year-old Khwanchanok and her children. She clarified that there was no romantic or prior relationship with the perpetrator; they simply rented rooms in the same building.

 

The harassment began when the man, noticing her as a single mother, attempted to befriend her, which she declined due to her family commitments. The situation escalated from December 2024, with the man intruding into her living space and reportedly hugging her nine-year-old daughter on several occasions. These acts started as early as October, but Khwanchanok's daughter only recently revealed them, having been silenced by threats from the man.

 

Local authorities at the Rattanathibet Police Station were informed on December 20, 2024. An initial agreement reached for compensation of 10,000 baht was negotiated to 6,000 baht, intending to put an end to the harassment. Despite this agreement, the man continued his abusive behaviour, exacerbated by alcohol, with instances of verbal abuse and intimidation.

 

 

 

On returning from a Songkran celebration, the harassment escalated violently. While drinking with friends outside the dormitory, the man targeted Khwanchanok with verbal profanities, further assaulting her by throwing a chair and physically attacking her near the rubbish disposal area. He attempted to harm her further until her children intervened, compelling her to defend herself by biting his shoulder, allowing her a moment to escape and seek help.

 

In the aftermath, Khwanchanok reported the incident to the police and shared her story widely on Facebook, appealing for community support and protection. The family's plight highlights the harrowing realities some face and underscores the importance of prompt and adequate response from authorities.

 

Prioritising her family's safety, Khwanchanok has chosen to move to a new area, remaining vigilant. Her story serves as a stark reminder of the critical need for safe environments and comprehensive support systems for those encountering harassment and violence.

That's a common thing.  Instant butthole.  Just add alcohol.  Not every drinker, of course.  But that's one of the many indicators that he may have an alcohol problem. 

 

I hope he gets the help he needs.  But in the meantime, he needs to be kept away from polite society.
