GammaGlobulin Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Dear Folks, China has used manufacturing to develop advanced robotics production expertise. The USA, which manufactures its goods in China, lacks this same degree of automation. So, is the USA doomed? Is it too late to catch up? Even now, advancements are progressing exponentially. What are the betting odds, anyway? https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/23/business/china-tariffs-robots-automation.html This is NOTHING NEW.... This revolution in manufacturing in China began over a decade ago. So then.... What were the Americans even thinking? Where was the country's leadership? Asleep??? Haha, maybe ask Biden, and he is one who knows how to sleep. But, this began way before Biden....meaning the decline of America. Was this decline lead by Wall Street and major investors? Why was this allowed to happen? Such a mystery, to me, during the past 4 decades. Did/Does America have a secret death wish? It would seem so. Such a mystery. Best regards, Gamma 1

Can you not understand this? We need to manufacture FASTER, BETTER, and for lower cost than China can. For this, we will NOT BE ABLE to use humans. Humans are no longer needed in the manufacturing process. This has been almost true for many years. Anyway, what human really wants to work in a factory on the assembly line? 1 1

As someone who had a job my whole life, and had many friends who worked in factories, no I will not forget about jobs. Yes we are in a trade dispute with China, but I would hardly call it a war. I just saw a YT video about making cars in the US, and there are plenty of humans on the assembly line. Plenty of people want those jobs, if they pay well. 1
Will B Good Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago They already have 1.4 billion robots.....not sure they need anymore. 2

black tabby12345 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Regarding the power balance issue between US and China, even more worrisome factor. It is about their ship building capacity ratio. In that field, China is 200 times as much as US. ship building capability of usa and china - Google Search

save the frogs Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Tesla has robots. The US and China are both leading the world in robotics. Not sure if any one country has an edge. So I don't understand why Trump wants to bring manufacturing back to the US ... since it will all be automated soon ... that part confuses me.

Because if you make it yourself, automated or not, you will have a guaranteed steady supply. Remember all the PPE that China withheld during covid? 1 1

Militarily, however, robotics for manufacturing things such as DRONES is far more important than any American business interests... I hope you can see my point here, Sir. This is an existential consideration of tremendous import, and one which few seem to appreciate.

The question which will decide the next war, meaning HOT WAR, will be the question of which economy, China vs USA, can produce the most drones, the fastest. Can the USA beat China, these days, in manufacturing...??? I seriously DOUBT that it can....BIG TIME...!!!! Note: Are you still under the misapprehension that it will be HUMANS operating drones...in the coming days????? REALLY.....!!!!!?????

I was in China in 1995, and I never saw NO BYD, back then....

Every business using humans for repetitive tasks is looking for a robot to do the job instead.

I am sure that your comment was just a TYPO.... But, these days, we have a VERY TINY WINDOW to rectify things if we want to crush the Commies, once and for all. This will require a LOT of concerted effort and cooperation from our allies and friends around the world, members of FREE and DEMOCRATIC nations. It is still not too late. Can TRUMP be the spearhead? For sure, if anybody can, Trump can be a spearhead, just by the looks of him, even. This is NOT a JOKE post, by the way. We have left things TOO LATE. And, we just might be able to recover our game...BUT.... it will definitely be Touch and Go. Does the American People have the WILL.....? IDK. We will need to enlist the help of MEXICO and Canada, but mostly Mexico. We need to set up factories in Mexico...BIG TIME. We need to vastly improve the living standard in Mexico. We NEED Mexico as our most important ally.....FOR SURE. We need to stamp out corruption in Mexico, and then use Mexico as part of our North American production base. Then, we will TAKE BACK manufacturing from the Commie-Bandits in China...BIG TIME....!!!!
