Why did you try to tell me that BYD was begun in 1995???

Are you trying to lead me down the garden path, or something, with false info????

Get with it.

I was in China in 1995, and I never saw NO BYD, back then....

There is a ~$300 billion trade deficit between the U.S. and China. This means that $300 billion dollars are leaving the U.S. every year so China can spend it as they want, including financing their military. The U.S. is basically financing their military on borrowed money.  The U.S. is in debt $36 TRILLION dollars because of crazy trade imbalances and government over spending. How many people know these facts?

I think it is too late for the U.S. to save itself, unless those protesters, the ones rejecting higher tarrifs so they can continue to buy cheap Chinese goods, and protesting the layoffs for a smaller government, understand what will happen if the country does not change course quickly and reduce the debt. The U.S. is far behind China and incapable of supporting itself at the moment.

Robots don't need sleep, meal breaks, or health insurance. Once the capital outlay is recovered, it's gravy all the way.

Every business using humans for repetitive tasks is looking for a robot to do the job instead.

Yes of course, and it's a damn shame.

WHAT???

Do you even THINK that I do not know about the missiles flying into the Taiwan Strait at the time that is mentioned in this thing that you posted here????

At the time, I was flying back from Guam to Taiwan.

The entire plane was EMPTY....

FREE CHAMPAGNE for ALL, for those brave enough to fly back on that night?

Then, there was some hooligan of a congressman of Taiwan who set out in a boat to travel to the restricted area where China had stated that missiles might fall.

GO BACK AND READ THE NEWS of that day...BUT....I do not have to...because...

I WAS THERE....like the Forest Gump that I am....my friend.

Not joking here.

It was a scary time for many on Taiwan.

Still, most guys on Taiwan just took this in stride, and laughed at the lousy Commie-Bandits.

I laugh at them...NOW, in fact.

If one does not stand up to Commie-Bandits, and call their bluff, then they will continue to bully.

We need to BAND TOGETHER, with our friends, to put an end to this dictatorial rule by the Marxist-Leninist Commie Regime.

Nobody likes them....

Not even me....!!!!

I bought a singing cactus toy and two days later it was broken.  Made in China.

What kind of a guy would buy a singing cactus, anyway?

This is my question.

Take note of what it says regarding BYD. Seems we have conflicting info.

As usual, we might add.

BYD started as a battery company first. You are speaking of BYD auto I think. As you know BYD is much bigger than just cars.

Militarily, however, robotics for manufacturing things such as DRONES is far more important than any American business interests...

I hope you can see my point here, Sir.

This is an existential consideration of tremendous import, and one which few seem to appreciate.

Agree. Everything China does has a strategic intent.

Really. After you said 95 I typed China 1995 into Google and it came up. Apparently BBK electronics was started n 95 too

BYD was not started in 1995, in case you might check this point.

And, even if the company was operating pre-2003, it was still in no way doing the same business it is doing now.

Back in 1995, most electronics companies in China were far less sophisticated than they are now.

A machine such as this might turn out to be a BIG hit in Pattaya, one might opine....

Whichever company masters the next step in batteries will be the leader in EVs.

EVs are batteries on wheels,....

Right?

Long-term strategic goals.

This is the secret to China's steady and rapid progress, one which IS NOT SECRET...really....

BYD made an announcement a few weeks ago about their new battery tech.

@placeholder posted a link about it.

The new battery will fully charge in 5 minutes with a range of 400km

Yes.

I did see that.

So, the question is...which nation will be Number One in batteries?

And, your guess is.....????

China and or Asia somewhere

By the way...

I should mention here:

I am one of the VERY FEW on TV who never boasts.

When I say that I am an expert on China, this is just what I mean, based solely on fact.

And, in fact, boasting is absolutely anathema to my sensibilities.

If anyone here on TV were to read the NYT article which I linked, then they would see informed comments such as this one:

image.png.b1816a8942444b0f55efa378b19c782b.png

But, does anyone on TV care?

More importantly, does ANYONE in the USA....CARE????

i think most in the USA do NOT care.

If they HAD cared, beginning in the early 80s, then we would NOT be in this....

PREDICAMENT.....

Now.

We now find ourselves in a very STICKY WICKET......

We will be dependent upon China...even for robotics to improve USA manufacturing.

And....

Speaking of STICKY.....

I cannot help but post this VERY STICKY TUNE......

And, you know why.....Folks.....

When the wind blows.....

And the rain feels cold.....

And, which country has the BIG ONES?

China?

USA?

China, IMHO, has bigger ones, these days.

Top Gun, these days...

Is just a Hollywood Movie...and...
NOT REAL, these days....

So sollly to say....though....

Tesla has robots.

The US and China are both leading the world in robotics.

Not sure if any one country has an edge.

So I don't understand why Trump wants to bring manufacturing back to the US ... since it will all be automated soon ... that part confuses me.

Political posturing.

The AI revolution cab't be stopped, in any event.  Tesla is already using its Optimus robots in its factories, and the plans are for millions to be rolled out to industry over the next five years.  They'll be cheap enough that you'll be able to buy one for your home.

I think this should be fairly obvious.

Trump/Anyone should wish to bring manufacturing back to the USA...ASAP....

But, this is not to increase factory jobs in the USA for humans.

We need to, once again, produce products we need, at home.

We cannot and should not rely on China to produce what we need.

How is this not easily understandable?
