Report Woman Arrested in Exam Cheating Scandal at Chulalongkorn University

In a startling incident at Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Law, a woman has been arrested for her alleged role in an exam cheating scheme involving a former police general. The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau reported that Kanittha Lertbanjerdwong was apprehended in Bangkok's Bang Bon district on Wednesday, following an arrest warrant issued by the Bangkok South Criminal Court.

 

Ms Kanittha faces charges related to illegally acquiring a test paper prior to an examination and supplying it to the former police general, who was enrolled in an evening course at the law faculty in 2023.

 

Cybercrime police successfully identified Ms Kanittha as a suspect after examining images stored on a mobile phone belonging to a former police officer closely linked to the former general. Phone records revealed that the test paper images were sent, allegedly by Ms Kanittha, to this officer before being forwarded to the former general.

 

 

 

Though Ms Kanittha was not officially affiliated with the university's faculty, investigators suggest she may have leveraged personal connections with university personnel involved in the evening classes to gain access to the test materials.

 

This incident highlights the pervasive issue of academic dishonesty and the lengths some individuals may go to exploit relationships and breach ethical standards. The investigation continues as authorities examine the extent of Ms Kanittha's involvement and any further connections within the university.

I’m sure this type of underhanded distribution of university exam tests could be found in every country in the world so I’m not at all surprised.
The other thing that doesn’t surprise me is the involvement of a General. It’s how you get to be a General in this country.

What do you men by 'paperwork'?

 

Do you know the steps / actions/ etc., involved in gaining a Ph.D.

Give the general credit for enrolling and sitting for the exams. Usually they just pay and receive their degrees.

I attended one of Chula's Thai language courses.   They had a no BS, high expectations, course.   Two tests each week, verbal and written, very limited number of days you could miss during the course, no excuses for being late to class where if you came in too late, you were listed as missing the days class, etc.  

 

As opposed to one of the downtown Thai language courses where I was told come in to class when you want.

Seems like a lot of effort, normally you pay teacher and they just do the test for you.

Teacher destroys your test, then slips in the one teacher did with your name on it.
