Did you not notice the court ruling taking Nestle out of the shops for a month, hence causing scarcity and opportunity for other coffee brands?

as for my usual shopping items .......

5x moo ping sticks and a bag of sticky rice still 30bht

2lty Pepsi from BigC still 35bht

McVities milk chocolate digestives still 99bht at RimPing

KFC Zinger burger still 69bht

Good that they are not inflated prices, but there is nothing in that list I would buy!

And no, I am not puritanical about what I eat!

Imagine the damage that has been done, over the years, to retirees with Social Security and pension payments that are indexed to the official inflation rate. For example, the government might say that the CPI rose 3.1% last year and that's the increase you get.  And yet that amounts to a loss in purchasing power over the year, considering the real inflation rate.  Year after year of the same nonsense and pretty soon retirees in America have a real problem.

Yep!

But, I buy my medicine at a pharmacy in S.E. Pathum Thani.  I track the cost every month (I try to go only once per month).  I've only logged a price increase on a few items (less than 4) in the past 4 years.  I've happy about that and mildly surprised. I hope it continues like that.

I purchase my meat from an market up country and on his primary items there has been no change in prices for the past 3 years. I still shop for things at Big C and Villa Market and I haven't seen many items increase in price there either, (of what I buy).

But food costs are a trivial percentage to most peoples spending, so rises are largely irrelevant.

Housing, property tax, utils and personal transport is what kills you in the west.

That's why I never sold back home and am now enjoying downtown Toronto living for less than $500 Canadian.

Visited the doctor yesterday and got imaging referral - a walk in in super modern downtown imaging center so wait time was zero. Quite a contradiction from porkies I read on this forum from supposed people who live in Canada.

And a view from my condo ain't bad either. Beautiful clean air and less than 5 minute walk to a grocery store ...

They have plenty of Asian women where i live. All young, less dumb than those millenials from a decade ago. Continue that street towards North York and its Asian heaven. So many Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese beauties.
