Which one? Doesn't he have three now?

I think the original attribution is accurate, his mother was Canadian-born but he was born in South Africa and spent his childhood there. So he's both.

If you are a South African, American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealander, in all likelyhood, by current definitions, your ancestors might have been illegal immigrants someplace.

Not mine.  They got run off their turnip patches in Belarus and Ukraine (though they weren't denoted that way on the maps of the day).  They came to the USA quite legally around 1900.  Today, the family has nobody on the dole, several multi-millionaires, 100% college educated, and doing quite well, thank you very much.  (Edit:  I'd add that they didn't get a dime, a free room, free healthcare, or anything else from the gub'ment when they arrived)

Regarding skilled workers from other countries, there are legal immigration paths for them.  Trump's never been anti-immigration.   They just need to be vetted and selected such that they contribute to the USA more than they cost.

Born in South Africa. He is a citizen of South Africa by birth, Canadian by the nationality of his mother, and American by naturalization.

He may well have a passport for each country.

Remind me, are black Afrikaners being run off their farms and murdered?  Seems reasonable to offer asylum to those that are.

Are Afrikaners being run off their farms and murdered? Are they experience a  higher homicide rate than black Africans?. What was alleged by Musk, Thiel, and Sacks who all have South African connections, was that a law was passed that would allow the South Africa Government to acquire land stolen from black south Africans without offering compensation. So far no actual confiscations have occurred. Yet despite that, sanctuary is being offered to these white Afrikaners. America is denying asylum to people who are being brutally persecuted. Yet these Afrikaners jump to the head of the line,

And the reason is clear: The South African government is threatening to commit crimes against real estate. Real estate owned by white people. And that is one crime that Donald Trump finds unforgivable.

I worked with a couple of them offshore in Thailand.  Their answer to your question would be "yes".  But that was 5 or 6 years back.

And I'd propose that the reason to put them in front of the line is that they're generally educated, they speak English and they will hit the ground running instead of slurping up gub'ment benefits.

Do they get a tiki torch on landing and a white outfit with a pointy hat?

Only if they agree to join and vote for the Democratic Party.

The murder rate in SA in general is hideous. Nearly 8 TIMES the rate in the States.  How it breaks down racially- who are the victims and who are the kilers, is an interesting question.

As for the land being "stolen", a sticky issue.  Without specific theft victims and specific criminals it is impossible to fairly judge. If the US were smart, they would invite ANY farmer with skills to emigrate.  To say that the SA government is just attacking real estate is disingenuous. The violence against farmers is real. "Kill the Boer, Kill the Farmer" is a populist chant at rallies across that country.

Even if everything you're saying was true and it's not, there are people suffering far worse persecution and other parts of the world. But somehow they don't qualify for wholesale asylum.

Perhaps because they don't bring marketable skills, expertise, and wealth?

Like farming skills and expertise...wow........must be a major shortage of those in the US. As for wealth that is tied up in the land.....which is presumably going to be stolen.

Yeah, farming skills. It takes more than a strong back to run an industrial-sized farm. Just ask Zimbabwe how things went when they drove out all the skilled farmers.

Actually a fair number of them do.

There are plenty of educated people fleeing Venezuela for example who can't get into the states. lots of Chinese too but somehow it it's the Afrikaners who excite sympathy.

White farmers in South Africa are being murdered regularly, and have been so for many years. The liberal left elite choose not to report this. Shameful.

Could you tell me who this liberal left elite are? Because I’ve read numerous articles about this appalling situation in so called left leaning newspapers such as The Guardian, New York Times & Daily Mirror over the past years.

Stubborn, bigoted, English speaking, educated and very employable.  And not at minimum wage, where they'd displace Americans that need those entry level jobs.

I don't recall hearing about too many Americans that want to work for minimum wage and being displaced by any foreigners Regardless of immigration status foreigners will do what they need to do to earn a living where US citizens avoid menial and low paying jobs.

Very much so, and I'm sure you agree that the same goes for the Rohingya people, am I right?

Rohingya genocide

That's what I like about you MAGA guys. You talk the big talk but underneath you're just a bunch of softies, aren't you!

Another misuse of the word genocide and falling for muslims painting themselves as the victims again. They have to be a real problem minority when even Buddhist monks speak out against them. Rohingya brought most of their problems on themselves.

Why, because the brotherhood of Buddhist monks are free of any "bad brother"?

You don't follow the news in Thailand, do you.

Why did you deflect the topic to the 'Rohingya genocide' then?
