Good to be American, who can own 100% of their Thai business.  No Thai shareholders required.

Americans can own 100% of any Thai business?  Really?   Or is it only certain qualifying businesses?

Do you see the word "any" in my statement?

No foreigner can own and operate certain businesses reserved only for Thais. The fact is that Thailand still follows the Amity Treaty with the US made in 1966. Allowing them to own 100% of a business in Thailand without the use of Thai proxies. But even that is limited to businesses that are not specifically designated for Thais only. The list is in this link.

I claimed Americans can own 100% of their Thai business.  It would be ridiculous to think they can own "any" business.  Of course we can't own tobacco companies or cocaine dispensaries.  For obvious reasons.

But, relevant to this story, Nate could be the 100% sole shareholder in his production company.  Whether he is or not, I don't claim to know.  If he was any almost nationality except American, I would know that he must have Thai shareholders in an LLC if it's operating legally.

No, but I can see that you specifically stated that "Americans can own 100% of their Thai business", that's why I did nothing more than asked you that question.

And that is not true.  Americans can only own 100% of certain types of business (which is not what you claimed).   I'd suggest that Nate's business is not one of those that you seemed to be claiming he'd be able to own in full just because he's an American.

Dear Ex of Nate,

I am very hansum.   I have many, many baths and take a baht usually once a day.   I know good 30 baht noodle places and my bicycle just got tuned up.  I'm 88 but my best friends at the pub/bar/hangout/club/(cool words) tell me I don't look a day over 39.  I feel like I'm 19.  OK, I don't.  anyhow, yo, yo, hit me up on myspace or aol or whatever the kool kids use now.  I've been in Thailand for over 39 years and I know almost 33 words that my ex-gf says she sort-of understood.   oh, and I know good place cheap beer.

please bring money.

YT won't bring you your dreams and money isn't everything.

We can swim in the moat around ChiangMai, I have some homemade swimsuits.   memories.....
