I wonder what they fight about , girls, drugs or just plain drunken idiots wanting to fight I prefer the latter.

And the poster is right, never used to see this, many forms of drugs around now , meth , cocaine and the illustrious dope shops selling unchecked medical weed, that god knows the THC content off.

Maybe they could isolate a designated area for these animals , call it Dope street and have boxing rings instead of pole dancers.

these arabs never need a reason to fight.

Too right.  What do they expect to happen when the place is crawling alive with cheap prostitutes  ( Thailands core business)  cheap booze, weed, drugs , food & lodgings.
Then throw in the “authorities “ who operate via the brown paper bag system & the human garbage & pond scum  starts to arrive thinking it’s anything goes……& they’re not disappointed.

There are several designated areas for these animals and have been for years. Pattaya and Patong to name but two of them. "normal people" are also perfectly at liberty to visit should they really wish to

It states that the guy arrested was Irish. Do you understand nationality?

No no no no no.  "It's the Russians!"  It's always the Russians.  Well, unless it's the Israelis, but that's normally in Pai.

Cheap flights? Visa for Europeans haven't significantly changed.

Can you point me to the websites for these cheap flights? I'd be most grateful!

Soi Bangla is quite a short street really. What’s so hard about policing it?

Never seen any cops actually on Soi Bangla when staying in Patong. They seem to keep to the two ends of the Soi.

So, if a Thai visited England they would only be 'allowed' to eat English food? Not the occasional Thai meal?

Dummy.

As these incidents continue to unfold and circulate online, conversations are intensifying around the need for stricter enforcement and effective measures to control the escalating nightlife chaos. The future of Phuket’s party scene hangs in the balance as stakeholders contemplate sustainable solutions to maintain both safety and the island’s allure.

In the good old days and the original Bangla road a drink was available 24/7 in bars. Any trouble was swiftly sorted and stopped by the locals. Tabs were the norm, I used to walk into my local bars,

to be given a bill, I would pay and begin again. Nothing was said and everyone was happy.

In those days it was mainly westerns and Aussie tourists.

I don't think there is an answer nowadays to the problems.

Much overrated this "brawl".

A rat-arsed half naked is pushed by other half-naked until his bum hits the ground.

Wow. Just riffraff among themselves.

Compare this to the rat pack kicking drunkards in Pattaya.

Kicking already motionless people to the head.

I have been to Phuket just after opening following COVID.

As an early bird I walked through Bangla in the morning when the last remains are swept out from the clubs.

Always some excitement, shouting and pushing around.

English breakfast has been available for decades in Thailand , stop talking rubbish . But on your earlier comment about the cheap flights , easy longer free visas bringing in the riff raff, I wholeheartedly agree. The weed being readily available has also brought plenty of bel ends into Thailand over the last 3 years .  Not sure what your issue is with the Brits but as a Brit myself , I have plenty with the young idiots avoiding Magaluf etc and now coming over from the UK in the last few years.  But remember it’s not just  a Brit thing , it’s the type of tourist that’s now coming here long term. Many many more idiots from all over the world arriving of late.

Isnt it supposed to be about nature? The beach? The discover of another culture? Many sightsee to focus on. Why look for the booze and party? Those are available in the west, uk. Nothing unique about it.

What has happened. Inflation hit everywhere… how come can so many people afford to live here? How they earn a living?

Thai police only react to problems, they don’t like to patrol areas

I recall that when Simon was still in Phuket, he was walking a beat protecting young and old from hooligans. With a spring in his step and in between coughing up phlegm,  he would whistle and hum as he patrolled, greeting all with a cockeyed grin and a rousing hello. Once he left, the security of Patong began to crumble and today, citizens of good will must take shelter from roving  gaggles of aggressive  drunken half unclothed farangs.

Beach? Patong's beach is more like a jetski parking lot and  ripoff strip with limited space available for  beach users. Enter the water at your own peril. Thailand will not release water quality data, but you can figure it out if you watch  the liquid that empties into the  bay from the klongs on either side of the beach.  Patong's primary tourist activity  after hotel and mediocre restaurants, is cheap bars and the sex trade. There is nothing else to do in Patong,

I went to Jomtien beach and went to swim in the sea. One of the most disgusting experiences in my life. Beaches in Thailand really are terrible.

Yes but then they can go phiphi phangha. Similan. Eat pattani delicatessen. Visit temple. Why tourists fly so far for booze and night club is odd.
