And? Pretty sure your original question was not restricted to any time-period.

Less ancient would be the Food By Phone guy. Does that pass muster with you?

Not even close to guy in the video.

Success?  In a business, capitalist way you are correct!!!  amazing, superb, fascinating, great for a young adult, very inspiring.

Life success?  who knows.   happy?  who knows?  reached enlightenment?  99.999% no way.

I would absolutely want his money if he has some. Maybe he has other bad investments. Maybe he bought that Trump coin and lost it all. Nobody knows.

I've seen too many rich people destroy families and themselves to claim "success" like the OP implies immediately.

But he has done more than most, probably has money which buys opportunity and allows freedom, and I hope he's using it and his company to help others.

Ask me again in 10-years.

Marc Hageleaur, yes, he did very well for himself. John Stamp too - came here with nothing and now sits on top of a business empire worth millions and employs thousands. He likes to spend time now chilling out on his super yacht, although is still in the Londoner most weekdays.

Those are just two people I know personally. I have another friend who came here 15 years ago with nothing and is now worth over $10m from businesses he has started in Thailand. He keeps a very low profile though and doesn't make YouTube videos about himself.

Really not sure what the point of this post is. Is the OP trying to say you can only be successful in India and not here? Because that is obviously nonsense. If you are smart you can be successful. There are countless foreigners who have made millions here.

Some guys have done very well in Thailand. Notably they are those who thoroughly study and learn the complexities of Thai business culture, and who pay great attention to detail.

I agree with you, that if the idea of this topic is that this cant be done in Thailand is incorrect.

My company transferred me to Thailand back in the late 90's. After a few years I started my own thing  and did very well in Thailand. We actually ended up selling and semi-retiring several years ago. I also have several friends in Thailand that have started successful business.

However, I know many that have failed. Mostly getting into something they had no control over, had no idea what they were doing and depending on a girlfriends to arrange and interpret things.  98% of the time this doesn't work.

Ask the barowners who have lost all they had in Thailand because their gf convince them that its a great business.

All over Thailand these bars going down.Often the owner sit down and drink up the small profit until they can't pay rent or electric bills etc etc
