Immigration will deny this 2nd extension request and allow 7 more days to leave the country, no specific questions asked ? better do this a few days before my current limit date (May 20) or can it be just the day before ?

Personally, would do it day or two prior.

Earlier they may date the 7 from day of application. Yes not nice.

As you would be aware ...each day of overstay is 500b.

Some folk needing 2-3 days might just elect to pay the fine

I risk is being nabbed. Unlikely.

The OP needed 14 days .

Should have done a border bounce.

Correct, but you'll have to pay the 1,900 BHT fee for the application. You can apply the day before.

Thanks to both of you for your precise answers. I will decide within the next couple of days and report any specifics.

Dr Jack, Just to check correct understanding:

that means going to Laksi & applying for a second 30 days extension (I entered with visa exempt 60 days and extended 30 days already, may need a few more days).

Immigration will deny this 2nd extension request and allow 7 more days to leave the country, no specific questions asked ? better do this a few days before my current limit date (May 20) or can it be just the day before ?

Thanks for your advice

This is all correct. But you must be careful with this.  It does not get added to the end of your stamp like the previous extension.  The 7 days will start the day you apply. So you can't do it early or you won't gain anything.

Op stated his permission of stay ended on 20th, which is a Tuesday.

I suggested the day before (Monday) to maximise his additional 7 days POS.

Correct, the additional 7 days is granted from the date of application.

In laksi i meet a foreigner from US.He bragged about how easy to get his extension.Well..he get surprised when they denied him and told him to cross the border if he wanted an extension because he been there made extension already. He said that his visa would finish the next day. Then u have a problem the IO said if he not crossing the border. He said he didn't have the money to travel to the border. The IO just shaked her head and said next pls.

I can't say I'm surprised. Now with "unlimited" border runs, the temptation is there for an IO to fob you off to do a border run instead of giving you the special 7-day "get out" grace period.
