Absolutely spot on. Has his grubby little fingers all over this.

Good quality Thai weed is two dollars a gram In Cambodia without the need for a certificate. There aren't any dispensaries though.

They are too chicken to ban it so they bring in a half baked idea like this. Will change nothing. Like all rules in Thailand it will be ignored.

Seeing some details on this proposal which mention a patient can get up to 30 grams in any 30 day period.

Obviously, "cannabis pharmacists/doctors" will have to be trained.

Controls/processes need to be drafted.

Eligible diagnoses/conditions will have to be published.

Very few conditions here - ~ four - are currently treatable with 'medical' cannabis.

Some U.S. states have quite strict medical conditions for which cannabis can be prescribed.

example: Florida

Qualifying Conditions (as of May 23, 2025):
Cancer:
Epilepsy:
Glaucoma:
HIV/AIDS:
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD):
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS):
Crohn's Disease:
Parkinson's Disease:
Multiple Sclerosis (MS):
Terminal illness (diagnosed by a physician):
Chronic nonmalignant pain:

I'm not into drugs or even getting drunk.

My personal choice.

I don't need alcohol or drugs to feel OK.

Yes, give up the enjoyable stuff and go full MAGA. You're just changing crutches. Better high than MAGA.

The work around will be   "health clinics" who offer  authorization certificates. It just won't result in the desired  effect.

It would  be much easier to enforce no smoking  regulations that already exist. Let the potheads smoke their dope in their own private space. No smoking in public places.

Waiting for a app, you just sign in and apply with a tracking mode 🤓

Seriously, this wouldn’t had happen if public smoking was not an issue, which it is

You're obviously one of these people that has no idea about cannabis use.

Oh well...

Should we ban alcohol too?

Oh well, seems you're one of those that believes there are no problems with cannabis use... Or overuse

YAWN!

But they did.

Actually, it was only legalised for medicinal purposes.... So this proposal is simply trying to bring it under control

No. That's a common misconception.

There were no restrictions, other than age, pregnancy, no vending machines, no public use where it impacts others, etc., regarding medical only.

It's been legal for three years, no one has ODed, and there are very few negative impacts on society. The smuggling out of Thailand is an issue that could be easily resolved.

I smoked it for about 8 years and toward the end I developed a very adverse side effect when "high" ...total paranoia. The sticky bud that I was smoking was one or two hit bud. I didn't get a euphoria. It was straight up paranoia and evil hallucination.

I would be very careful about discussing this on a public forum, which is most likely being monitored.

They're probably on their way to your location right now.

One of those Immigration requirements that changes from Office to Office I guess! Our Office (as from a couple of years ago) also require a photo of you outside your house showing the house number!

For Retirement Extension?  Marriage needs photo.

Your post history makes it clear.

It reminds me of a line from Cheech and Chong. “i used to be all messed up on drugs, now I'm all messed up on the lord.“ In your case, it's “all messed up on MAGA “

Haha, I am the guy who started this thread. You are WAY off dude! LOL 🤣🤣

You do realize that people can be liberal and progressive in their politics and still be against drug use .. yea?

Can't reason with people who doesn't understand themselves are their own biggest enemy to keep it as it was. Instead many of them are flying high and not thinking of the consequences. Suppliers, shops and users burning the bridges.

Flame away, this is just a sober analysis

Just when the growers started to produce excellent products.

You are the one who is wrong, I clearly remember when it was legalised, specifically medicinal purposes.

"If the duration of use exceeds one month, that will not be considered for medical purposes and there will be prosecution"

How can I treat my chronic insomnia for 30 days only?

Dr Somlerk Jeungsmarn, Director-General of the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, echoed the sentiment, suggesting potential dosage limits and penalties for non-medical use, including possible imprisonment.

somewhat above his pay scale in my not so humble opinion, since when has crime and punishment been anything to do with "directors of traditional medicine" (other wise commonly known as quacks)

It was legalised for recreational use on Thailand on June 9, 2022

Show me the legislation

This from June 9, 2022

"Thailand's government has said it is promoting cannabis for medical use only, warning those eager to light up for fun that smoking in public could still considered to be a nuisance, subject to a potential 3-month sentence and 25,000 Thai baht ($780) fine."

Cannabis flower was removed from the Narcotics list ~ Feb. 9, 2022 (date gazetted, effective date +3 months at May 9, 2022), essentially decriminalizing production, distribution, and personal use.

Cannabis extracts remain on the Narcotics list.

Some 4,000 prisoners serving sentences for cannabis possession/distribution et al, were released from jail.
