The Russian haters will be gleeful about this.  However, this puts us on the brink of a nuclear war this evening.  It will be interesting to see what shakes (thermonuclear-wise) in the next 24 hours.  Russian nuclear doctrine calls for a nuclear counter-attack as would a similar strike on US nuclear assets. Expect some kind of very bright fireworks tonight at least in Ukraine.  My guess is the US/NATO just got the world war that their insane Neo-con want so badly.  Hope we're all here tomorrow.  Even better - I hope this is fake news.  If not?  As Doug Adam's dolphins said in A Hitchhikers Guide To The Universe as the Earth is about to be destroyed, "So long and thanks for all the fish."

Bwa ha ha. Maybe Russia shouldn't use long range strategic bombers to mass bomb civilians in Ukraine. 41 bombers so far. Russia is was using long range bombers because they are were far out of reach. Genius idea, Use large trailer trucks filled with fiber optic drones and park with in range of bases (5 so far). 

 

Threat of nuclear war just went down. No weakened power would start tossing nukes around. The best news is kids in Ukraine can sleep better.

Russia has never been calm so not sure what your smoking but its affecting your judgement

Only 3 choices, surrender, keep fighting the war of attrition and slowly lose or escalate the war effort and go on the offense so Russia has to fight on more fronts and expend more supplies and weaponry.

 

Its exactly what he needs to do. Take the pain inside Russia and start shutting down the logistics of the Russian military.

You should try to read the news, Germany has agreed to "develop" long range weapons with Ukraine, which effectively means Ukraine will get the Taurus technology from Germany.

Those airbases are thousands of miles from Ukraine, so clearly the Ukrainian operators drove at least one van or truck thousands of miles inside Russia without arousing any suspicion.

The Russian airforce bases were used  by aircraft that fly sorties against Ukraine. This made them a legitimate and  necessary target. The defensive mission by Ukraine  may reduce the potential for Russian bombing missions. At the very least, it inflicted some pain on  the Russians who have refused to enter into peace talks with Ukraine and  who betrayed Trump's peace initiative.

It is not an escalation to defend oneself. There is no requirement for a nation being bombed not to try and reduce or prevent the bombing attacks.

A promise to look at development is not the same as providing technology for the immediate use. The development can be  cancelled or delayed, and the end product may not be available for 3-5 years. It is a PR gesture more than anything else.

A cowardly drone attack is one aimed at civilians, not bombers.

 

War is war...Russia attacks deep in Ukraine, now they get a taste of reciprocation. Prevailing easterly winds ensures Putin is using no nukes in Ukraine, in any Nato country he will get a response in kind on his beloved Russia...so it's not happening anytime soon.

If Putin uses nuclear weapons against Ukraine no Nato country can or will retaliate.

 

They are not insane. No country will risk its existence for Ukraine.

 

However, it could drag a lot of countries into the war using conventional weapons.

Ukraine has attacked deep within Russia. Russia's nuclear doctrine envisages the use of nuclear weapons if the integrity of the Russian nation is endangered.
