A recent Suan Dusit Poll, conducted nationwide from 26-30 May 2025, revealed growing public disillusionment with Thai politics, as citizens become increasingly bored and hopeless amid political rifts and budget debates. The survey, involving 2,168 respondents, focused on the "Thai Political Index May 2025" and highlighted a decline in political confidence, with the index scoring 4.70 points—down from 4.82 in April.

The rift between the red (Pheu Thai) and blue (Bhumjaithai) political camps, along with concerns about the transparency and effectiveness of the 2026 budget debate, has contributed to this sentiment. Many respondents questioned whether current political efforts truly address the people's livelihoods.

Despite the overall discontent, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra was acknowledged as the most outstanding government politician, with a 40.87% approval rating. Respondents commended her efforts to tackle tourism issues and restore public confidence in the sector.

On the opposition front, People’s Party leader and Opposition leader Nattapong Ruangpanyawut was spotlighted as a politician to watch, securing a 50.79% approval rating. His commitment to probing the government’s transparency issues received significant praise from the public.

Overall, the poll underscores a climate of scepticism and a desire for greater transparency and more meaningful political engagement in Thailand.

The foremost complaint is the Thai peoples growing  objections to the manipulation from Thaksin and his family. Thaksin's populist policies to win votes has cost the country billions it can ill afford.

The constant  lies to gain his escape from  justice are being exposed big time.

Dubai would be good however his return to prison would be better still.

The biggest beef has to be the return of Thaksin and his constant meddling in politics.

Disillusioned is merely a thinly veiled euphemism for learned helplessness, Thailand having endured more coup d'état than any other country in the world over the past 90+ years having past since the "People's Constitution" and theoretical, if not actual, democratic rule.

The documentary film "Paradoxocracy" details that entire history which is not taught to Thai students, with the history itself constantly being actively re-written and actively suppressed.

Occasionally it surfaces briefly on YouTube and has been shown years ago publicly in Thailand before again being banned.

A public kept ignorant is more easily manipulated and controlled.

And unfortunately that sickness of misinformation and deliberate disinformation is on the rise globally, thanks in part to social media, which is itself a tool owned by and used by the oligarchs, no where moreso than in the United States.

They have about two dozen reasons to be disillusioned with politics, what should be taking place is that every single government official should be shamed, every single time they walk out of their house, every single time they walk into a restaurant, every single time they walk into a grocery store, they should be made to feel that they are the totally compromised, super corrupt, ridiculously arrogant fools that they truly are, and their families need to know who their parents are.

They are all weak, pathetic, cowardly, self entitled hooligans, who are accustomed to a perch atop the ivory tower, scared to death of being taken down a notch, and perhaps now being asked to be accountable for their heinous and unforgivable actions? Of course they will resort to whatever dirty tactics they can. That is who and what they are. Filth. They are the deplorables.

These lowlifes have been bullying the Thai people for many years now. Guess they never expected the favor to be returned. They all assume they are "above it all". Mightier than the masses. Too rich to touch. Well, perhaps things are about to change. Perhaps your lives are about to take a turn for the worse, and you and your families are going to be subject to intense harassment for the cowardly and highly dishonorable positions you accepted. After all, the fortune comes at some cost, right? One can only dream.

Never forget these absolute creeps stole an election from the Thai people and deposed a highly competent PM, that was duly elected and in his place put a young incompetent that has no idea what she's doing, and is running the country into the ground.

That's indeed strange.

I thought Thaksin was not allowed to mingle with politics. I thought he was ordered to abstain from politics.

So why could it happen that he's again acting as a not acknowledged or elected PM ?

And when Yingluck is back we have a famous triumvirate of misusing power and grafting kleptocrate family

The People's Party need a charismatic leader like Pita to galvanise the public again.

There's the looming case where 44 MPs, including Pita and Thanathorn from The Move Forward Party may get banned for life for their Parliamentary support to reform the lese- majeste law.

They deserve it

in fact they should be charge with treason

The Trinity bond is inseparable and any thai who propose to dismantle this bond should be branded a traitor
