Israeli opposition lawmaker Avigdor Lieberman accused the government on Thursday of arming Palestinian militias in Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said later in a statement that Israel was acting "in various ways" on the recommendation of the security establishment.

Netanyahu's office did not deny Lieberman's accusation.

Gang ‘of about 100 armed men’ operate in eastern Rafah with tacit approval of IDF in apparent attempt to counter Hamas

Israel’s government has been accused of arming a Palestinian criminal gang whose members have allegedly looted humanitarian aid, in an apparent attempt to counter Hamas in Gaza.

Satellite images and videos verified by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz showed on Thursday that a new Palestinian militia has expanded its presence in southern Gaza, and is operating inside an area under the direct control of the Israel Defense Forces.

Its great news right. All the protests against Hamas that were happening recently that were organized by the clans have now finally got some weapons to actually do some damage to them.

Israel says it is arming clans opposed to Hamas in Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel is arming clans in the Gaza Strip to undermine Hamas, the Palestinian militant group that Israel has been fighting for almost 20 months.

Yasser Abu Shabab, who is openly known in Gaza for opposing Hamas, is calling on all Gazans to come and live under Israeli army protection in Rafah.

If he succeeds, it would be a death blow to Hamas.

This isn’t simply arming a ‘Palestinian Militia’ it’s arming a violent criminal group with affiliation to ISIS.

Let’s remind ourselves, supported of Israel’s war on Gaza have frequently and consistently labelled anyone or any organization that has any dealings with Hamas at all as terrorists/terrorist supporters.

The group Israel is arming and funding is unquestionably associated with ISIS.

We’ve been here before, Netanyahu approving funds to a terrorist organization with intent to further Israel’s aims in Gaza.

Clearly the lessons from that have not sunk in, a State with a history of funding terrorists is once again funding terrorists.

What is that affiliation to ISIS that you claim and you further claim is unquestionably associated with ISIS, where is the evidence?

Can't wait for you to come up with some evidence on that claim. Or retract it.

"it was not immediately clear why Liberman branded it as linked to the Islamic State."

"According to the sources, the militia comprises some 300 people, of whom Abu Shabab personally recruited around 50. They alleged that the remaining 250 members were recruited through the Palestinian Authority’s intelligence service."

He wont, like the rest of the folks that dont live in reality.

Offer $100,000 and Israeli citizenship for a head and hands. Put mugshots up everywhere. Wanted dead or...dead.

Bet there will be a pile.

That's your  western bias, repeating the stereotypes circulated by the arabs. The Gazan arabs stole the Bedouin land, and dispossessed them. This was enabled by the Turkish occupation.  You have forgotten that long before the arab settlers  arrived from the Arabian peninsula and from the  Suez canal project, the original inhabitants  were Bedouin nomads. They lived in relative peace with the jewish  community that had been there as long as the Bedouins had.  The  jews stayed in the small coastal settlements and had some farms, while the Bedouins roamed the land moving from grazing area to grazing area. The Bedouins have a legitimate claim to much of what is called Gaza today. The arabs who live there now drove the Bedouins off, refusing to recognize their land rights. The Bedouins were denied access to the generous aid that flowed from western sources. While Fatah and then Hamas looted the aid, the Bedouins received little, except from the Israelis, who would still offer medical  care and some assistance. Therefore, it should not come as a surprise that some of the Bedouin must rely on crime to survive.  The Bedouin have suffered at both the hands of the Gazan arabs and the Israelis, and to now be called thieves by some  westerner adds to the burden and abuse these people have suffered.

How does any of that attempt at a deflecting strawman relate to my post and the links I provided to support it?

Another linked article in the matter:

Israel is providing weapons to a Jihadist group in the Gaza Strip affiliated with ISIS, Opposition lawmaker and former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Thursday.”

This will not end well, just like supporting funding Hamas did not end well.

Your links as usual do not support your false claims which were.

israel Beytenu head Avigdor Liberman’s leak on Wednesday that Israel was arming a gang in Gaza opposed to Hamas was meant to shock.

The immediate reaction was disbelief that Israel would hand over weapons – reportedly captured from Hamas – to a criminal gang in Rafah with past ties to ISIS in Sinai.

Is it bad to back a group opposed to Hamas?

Repeating old mistakes: Arming our enemies' enemy is never a long term fix

An interesting article above that talks about Israel's funding of rebel groups in the Syrian war to prevent ISIS and Iran-backed terrorists from reaching the Israeli border.

It can be argued, the author says, that these moves were successful.

However, another example was Israel’s attempts in the early 1980s to let Hamas grow as a charitable organization to counterweight Fatah. (Many will argue Netanyahu feared Palestinian unity and the creation of a Palestinian state, thus he did everything to create disunity between Fatah and Hamas.)

The author argues the decision to support Yasser Abu Shabab to counter Hamas may make sense in the short term but the jury is certainly out regarding the long term.

Opinion piece that states it will in the short make sense. Yes the jury will of course be out long term, no crystal balls available obviously. If only Hamas had agreed to the ceasefire last week eh.

Oh Liberman is the one that made a connection to ISIS with no evidence isn't he. Then loads of media jumped on this fact less piece of drivel.
