What's in Thailand goes to my GF, what's in Australia goes to my son.

Sounds like the wife's gloss is wearing off, he used to boast about how hot his wife/GF is.

I have no problem with my GF having her own assets ( mainly gold ), what's the OP's problem?

IIRC he claimed to be rolling in income.

Perhaps she has realised he is really selfish.

Does add meaning to the reply.  On a retirement visit, not using an agent.  No real surprises, as I post about house & BEV, when queries are posted.  Far from rich, and simply enough.  Who doesn't make sure the wife & kid have a secure future when you're gone.  Not that either need me now.

Anyone, my or our age, that don't have some assets, then you made some really bad choices in life.  If I threw in I retired at 45, then that would be tootin' my own horn.

70 yrs old, don't own house (if wanting) or vehicle (no payments, if wanting), and living month to month.  How does that even happen ?   Especially if coming from one of those universal healthcare countries.

A house, car & oops fund ... that shouldn't impress anyone   :coffee1:

I'm impressed by your ability to inject an EV into any conversation.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when she gets someone to translate what you wrote, either that or she can do that with the camera on Google Translate.

I have read a few facebook group discussions about Thai ladies life with farangs, and trust me, they are almost up to the same level you find here 😉😅😂

what can you expect from a lady who do not have life experience or education ?

I guess his wife is as much educated as the average wife in here. And that is quite poor background for most. Some smarter than others by experience.

just imagine a farang takes half of her sale of family property, ?

My wife was self supporting before she met me, computer graphic design.  With excellent investment skills.  Along with, she could literally build a house herself with a crew.  She's that good, as her Greenhouse shows.  She re-plumbed this house, under the floor, as you wouldn't believe the crap job the builder did.   Luckily their only building failure.

I wouldn't state just 'house & car', as wouldn't want anyone to think that meant an ICE, and consider me that stupid to own one, especially when have solar.

Oh sh!t, and he has solar ... OMG, what a genius :cheesy:

You guts really need to get a life, other the critiquing my replies, and giving me thumbs down emojis.  But hey, thanks for the chuckles.

Kinda normal isn't it that farang money is theirs and their money is theirs also, that's what it's all about

Not much different in the 'west' when it comes to divorce court, whether right or wrong.  Somehow the chickies, come out of court with the better deal.

Thankfully we were DINKS, and I was poor, for the 2 divorces, in the USA :coffee1:

I'm bragging again, married 4X ... y'all impressed :cheesy:

Only when kids are involved, you can't have kids and expect the judge to ignore them.

Check the law before moving in with people, having kids and getting married

right.   especially when it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic :coffee1:     It's ok,  i'm just jealous

Had everything to do with my reply, and the topic.   Along with much of the thinking of most expats ...

... if I didn't have money would she be with me, us

... if she gets money, would she leave

... if more valuable dead than alive, would you have 'accident'

... she has money & assets, and yet she stays

Don't think too hard, you might hurt yourself :coffee1:

Remember, critiquing my reply, has nothing to do with the topic.  Says a wee bit more about you, than me.

Troll On ... or ... Feel free to add me to your ignore list....PLEASE

People with dogs think their dogs love them. Stop feeding them for a week or two and see if the attitude changes.

Actually @BritManToo has written much the same thing in the past. Neither of you thought it through. It's such a nonsensical statement.

How would your young human children react to you not feeding them for a week or two?

I know dogs that I don't feed at all, but every time I see them they lavish me with attention and affection.

How would you explain that?

Your statement says more about the person making it, than anything else.

So my wife thinks she's coming into a few million Baht (almost no chance).

And wanted me to sign a document stating any money she gets is hers, and I have no claim on it.

I say, "sure, no problem", and she brings over a notepad for me to write out the agreement.

I write "any money you get and half belongs to me" she tells me to sign and date it to make it official.

She asks me to read out what I wrote, and I read out "any money you get belongs entirely to you"

She walks off happily clutching the document to keep somewhere safe .........

You can't fix stupid!

I gotta admit, I don't have that problem.

Think she's trying to sell land for 10Mbht ........

She has a sticky rice farm in Lomsak and half a mountain in Nan.

Seen both places once, and never felt the urge to return to those rural hell-holes.

Yeah. Some Thai women aren't aware that the law changed many years ago that allows them to own land, sell land, etc., completely on their own, and keep the money, even if their last name is the same as their husband's farang name. (it used to be that Thai women would not offciially marry a foreigner because they'd be barred from buying land or owning stocks with a foreign last name). That changed a long time ago (30 years ago?). But the District Offices can still demand the foreign husband sign a form at their office that acknowledges the foreigner has no claim to ownership or proceeds of the purchase or the sale (I think that's hit and miss - my wife has bought land but she thinks to sell it I will need to sign a form at the District Office). Allowing all Thai women to have full rights to buy/sell land regardless of a change in their name (to a married foreigner) was a move to make things equal with Thai men.

In that case, if she had those assets before your marriage, she's pretty much entitled to the funds when she sells them.
However - saying, "I'm not sharing any of this with you, farang," is rather greedy.  You do support her and your kid, right.
And yet when the fickle winds of fate change direction, it's "P*ss-off farang, you get nothing."  If she obtains money it sounds like perhaps she'll trade you in for a new model.
Realistically I had my wife sign a prenup.
