Always walk towards the traffic...    In this case the lady 'should' have been walking on the other side of the road where there was more room and she'd be facing on-coming traffic...     Thats not to

  • Like the police force who allow such misdemeanors.

That's why you always walk against traffic, so you see sh!t coming at you.

Yes I agree and it even says so in the Thai Land Traffic Act! (not that anyone seems to read it)

I've had to tell my wife many times that she should walk on the right when there's no footpath, but I'm still not sure that she's got the message.

Sadly, neither did this unfortunate couple.

Probably not make much difference if she always has her face on the phone.

Unfortunately in this social culture that's kind of related to this "face business" : No one makes constructive criticism and no one listens to it, even if it is life saving advice. And now this face thing has been hijacked as can be seen by the way people drive here. So you have very careless people walking in the road+ reckless driving. Surprised there is not more of these accidents

Agreed... the driver just mowed the pedestrian down as if she wasn't there...       Also agree.... the driver was probably drunk.

I hope we see a follow up to this story...   they must have the car license from other CCTV in the area and the driver in custody by now, surely ?

Too much hard work for them  for any follow ups

Are you referring to my wife or the unfortunate victim?

Either way it's a pretty churlish comment to make.

If you  don't understand what 'if' means don't bother.
