Every country has prostitutes. But you don’t really notice them much.

But in Thailand family holiday makers are constantly exposed to them.

And the government claims that they don’t want to have that reputation.

The problem with the bar fine and take out rule is that we end up with hundreds of monger-prostitute pairs out in public, and it is very obvious.

I think most of us don’t like that registering the prostitute at reception procedure at the hotel sometimes having to queue up amongst family groups who are also checking in at the same time with the mother and daughters giving you the stink eye and the dad and sons having a perve.

And then again at the breakfast buffet the next morning.
And then again around the pool when Lek from Issan decides she wants to go swimming and makes a scene nearly drowning.

Legalized brothels would also allow these Dads to sneak off for a discreet servicing with confidence he wouldn’t get caught or seen by the wife and kids doing the dash in public to the short time room.

Thai women have an international reputation for this because mongers are seen in public with prostitutes, often walking hand in hand in restaurants, shopping centers, in the streets and at the beach because of the bar fine takeout system.

By legalizing brothels and putting it all in doors it would improve Thailands image.

Potential advantages:
- Some level of protection for the girls/boys
- Legalization could help sex workers have control over their own bodies and finances, rather than being at the mercy of pimps or exploiters
- Reduction is human trafficking
- There could be regular STD/STI tests
- The criminal element would hopefully not be in charge (the government criminal element would take over)
- Safer working conditions
- Tax revenue
- Police could (but probably won't) focus on real crimes

I think a delivery option should be legally mandatory.

Something like Food Panda, could call it Poo Ying Panda.

You can cobble together this service using Thai Friendly and Grab taxi but for convenience a streamlined solution would be nice.

That doesn’t suit everyone to bring them to their villa or hotel room.

I think my maid is starting to think I am some sort of P.Diddy.

I would like to have more of a one stop service.

Very much like the Kinaree in Pratumnak.

Lovely place, free food, 34-40 sex professionals to choose from and nice rooms, nice bar, comfortable seating.
And from the front you would not know what the place was unless you were told.

In a discreet Soi with little passing traffic and plenty of parking across the road.
It was a sad day when it closed.

An end of an era.

Maybe the problem isnt the prostitutes but the activities of the mongers and how they act in public places..

Stay away fromPattaya, Patong\Phuket and Soi Cowboy and Nana and thats 80% solved. There will always be prostitution throughout the country but not so in your face without mongers acting the part

How do you act in these public places?

I act like a normal person living in Thailand not a sexpat on the prawl for the next Batgirl.   How do you act?

I doubt that going to a brothel would be appealing to most foreign guys travelling to Thailand for female company. (I've never been to a brothel back home, and, most probably, never will.) Also, there are already brothels, which (besides the deep South), are mostly frequented by local johns...

You’re not known for telling the truth.

Why would I believe a word you say.

I thought they had. It is called Pattaya

Not many brothels in Pattaya.  Most prostitution happens 'privately' after barfining from clubs, bars and gogos; or following a street or online arrangement.
