In an impressive testament to swift policing, Makati City officers apprehended three armed men within a remarkable two minutes following a distress call. This outstanding feat came well within the five-minute response time target set by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

It all began on the evening of June 20th, when a bank employee in Barangay La Paz, Makati City noticed three suspicious individuals attempting to access her premises. Acting swiftly, she dialled 911. To her and the community's relief, the police arrived promptly—faster than anticipated.

Police Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin, who leads the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), shared details of the incident. "Officers arrived within two minutes," Aberin stated. Upon arrival, they swiftly verified the situation and tracked the suspects to a nearby eatery. It was there that they discovered one suspect visibly armed.

From the suspects, the police seized three .45 calibre pistols along with loaded magazines carrying 23 live rounds, plus two black sling bags. The confiscated firearms have been meticulously marked and documented for evidence.

Aberin praised the officers for their rapid response, highlighting its key role in thwarting potential threats. "This incident underscores the importance of rapid police response," he noted, commending the Makati police for their outstanding execution.

The three suspects are presently in police custody, facing charges for Light Threats under the Revised Penal Code and violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. As they await inquest proceedings at the Makati City Prosecutor's Office, NCRPO's commitment to swift action sets a new standard.

This episode follows PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III's earlier pledge to institutionalise a rapid response system in adherence to President Marcos’ mandate for enhanced police visibility and efficiency across the nation.
