ignis Posted Monday at 11:18 PM Posted Monday at 11:18 PM Maybe I am to old ? Don't understand how to Fix My Banking App for SCB suddenly stopped working, about 3 years ago, [used it every month to pay internet, water and electric bills] a number of visits to the Bank = got nowhere it was a Android 7 Bank idea was it was to old Phone gave up so had to buy a new phone, so thought would try again - Opened the account some years ago at Big C, that building has since closed, many moved to Central Westgate, so went there with my new phone, long waiting time but thought all went well, last thing was Bank called the Service Centre a message would be sent in 1 hour with activate code, total time in Bank 3 hours !! So Activate code sent and entered = Error visit SCB Branch............. another 2+ hours at the Bank = had to enter ATM/Mastercard number = error, Bank staff looked at the EXP date had passed so was issued with a new Card + of course the piles of photocopies I had to sign, + 200 baht fee, again Bank called the Service Centre = a message would be sent in 1 hour with activate code, So Activate code sent and entered = Error visit SCB Branch............. The SCB Branch is 15 km away,,,, so phoned the Service Centre ............ they kept on about I have a new phone, don't understand when 'Hutch' closed in Thailand I moved back to AIS, so have the same phone number for years... 3 x phone calls to the SCB Service Centre got nowhere still on about a new phone. Noticed a friends Son car in the Village so went to them so could get help from a 22 years old..... so after lot more phone calls it works out that it is the phone explained in English......... Must take old phone to transfer something to new phone... Old phone Broken = why I have a new one will not charge or switch on so is there any point ? All something to do with this A1 whatever that is ?? everything is now connected........... Maybe explains every day I sign in to Google/Facebook or MS I get a message Did you just sign in with a new device ? How to stop all this nonsense ??
scubascuba3 Posted Monday at 11:24 PM Posted Monday at 11:24 PM Doesn't make sense, if you lost an old phone they'd have to switch to new phone. Maybe you still had the old phone partially set up to the app causing the issue, normally you need branch to sort it and yes it's partly getting old is the problem

mancub Posted Tuesday at 06:28 AM Posted Tuesday at 06:28 AM SCB recently "up-graded" their app, meaning it no longer works on some older (and newer! ) phones. Unfortunately, the misleading messages on the app don't help either. Also, if you've changed your passport, the bank staff will have to re-activate your details.

New phone is Android 13 Passport changed 2018, came out of Trendy Building went into the Mall round the corner to change/update SCB + Bangkok Bank
ignis Posted Thursday at 07:03 AM Author Posted Thursday at 07:03 AM Update even more confused went to a different SCB Branch so say will not work because my number is not showing ?? says 'OALE DBX' not my number ?? Which network are you with and presumably the number is one you have had for a while? When they tried to register you I presume they were using mobile data and that you have a data package? This is not an uncommon problem - neither of my phones show the Sim phone number in Settings. Although it says 'Unknown' and not OAle DBX which would appear to be some make of phone.....? https://www.hardreset.info/devices/oale/oale-dbx/codes/ 4 hours ago, ignis said: U-Phone 6 Plus No idea what this is?

The phone bought 6 weeks ago SALE from AIS When Hutch left Thailand we went back to AIS, forget when over 10 years ago. Had a Thai phone for 23 years the Sim Never in my name [all part of a package Internet + Business Sim + Sim I use]

ignis Posted Thursday at 02:01 PM Author Posted Thursday at 02:01 PM 1 hour ago, topt said: Does your Sim have its own data package? No idea.. [bot sure what a data package is] as said before used to work on my old phone then stopped, reason given was phone/Android version was to old and no longer supported The full AIS package has XXX free mins = never go over this so no bill, last time over was about 7 years ago phoning UK a few time in a month
topt Posted Thursday at 02:49 PM Posted Thursday at 02:49 PM 35 minutes ago, ignis said: No idea.. [bot sure what a data package is] In order to set up the app initially or when you change phones it has to be done over a mobile data connection and not over wi fi - hence me asking if you actually have a data package and/or switched mobile data on when trying to connect. However I would have thought the staff would have sussed that out but you never know. So first step is too make sure of the above. Once you are sure of that try and activate the app again. - it may be worthwhile deleting the cache and data of the app before you try again. Depending on that you may want to ring AIS customer services and explain the issue and see what they suggest about your number not showing When I moved mine to a new phone with my existing AIS sim I was able to do it without going anywhere near a SCB branch.

Buy cheap, buy twice. I'm sure someone has told them that along the way. Depends what you need a phone for my last 3 cheap phones have lasted around 4 years each.. I did try twice a mid range Samsung,[expensive] both spent more time in the Service Centre than in my hands so had to buy another phone.. So a Brand New clearance stock phone is for me the way to go... New Phones are Android 16, so a Android 13 is 70 - 80% cheaper. [eg a 3,995 baht phone reduced to just over 1,000 baht just because it has Android 13] Before coming here 22 years ago, always bought a new phone every year as needed it for Business here I don't need, but must have to login to so many places [websites]
SMIAI Posted yesterday at 03:47 AM Posted yesterday at 03:47 AM I don't mean cheap as in price, but cheap as in 'not fit for purpose'. I buy phones that are cheap in price, but they are fit for purpose. For instance, have you noticed that no one can answer your question as to where to find your number? Bank staff having issues with your phone? GSMARENA which has almost every phone in existence listed, shows no trace of yours. The specification is completely fake! Try searching for it online. The only place found is on that Facebook link that shows completely different specification than what you have quoted. That's what I mean by 'buy cheap, buy twice'. 4000 baht phone? I don't think so. Get a recognisable phone with reliable specifications. I bought a second hand iPhone for less than you paid. It's fit for purpose. Here is someone's review of your phone brand: https://pantip.com/topic/38754918 Quote Don't buy it...it's really bad. I can't even watch videos. The camera is a lie. I went to f from the (redacted) page when they liked the sale and they said they only had Oppo, Samsung, iPhone. When I f, they sent me a U-Phone...I'm really disappointed with the page.😣😣😣 Your Android 13 is likely not Android 13 at all, which may be why it doesn't work. Are you sure that you bought it from AIS official? I'm not convinced. If so, I would return it forthwith, as the specs quoted are entirely nonsensical. You've been HAD. Get over it and get a proper phone if you need it for banking. Give your phone to a five year old kid for fun. It's useless.
SMIAI Posted yesterday at 04:08 AM Posted yesterday at 04:08 AM Here are examples of phones with genuine specification, that will actually work: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/redmi-14c-688-120hz-ai-50mp-13mp-i5305645426-s22582310260.html https://www.lazada.co.th/products/pdp-i5085551186-s21472869031.html Not recommendations, but examples. Yours is totally fake, with no support at all.
ignis Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago Maybe should have bought this one = even cheaper https://shopee.co.th/product/1150872535/24043886197?gads_t_sig=VTJGc2RHVmtYMTlxTFVSVVRrdENkVHQ3ZkZSUTMrR3pBWmZZNzdrcnRBMlJvdTROUDlQK29YQ0QrYVFFZjJmdUtGR0N6c2g0K2ZSbjdSVjBlazdpVUFWMDRrREZ6dFhTT2hidXRrUElRK1NGcjhUS0lQRUNzeXhLMzhQS09SUUlSQXlwYnFsenBoOWVnT3o3TDkrVjVnPT0&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21084885554&gbraid=0AAAAADPpYO1mHw9Hc3WR0_G62tOwmjDYJ&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8dPGhZ2RjgMVaalmAh0DiQmBEAQYASABEgK03PD_BwE ?? but not from AIS Shop I like my new phone is bright, clear + voice clear ringtone much better than my old 4+ year old Vivo also from AIS shop Have never watched Videos or TV on a phone and never likely to. used camera on phone maybe 3 times in past 10 years so also of no interest to me..
SMIAI Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Now I understand what they mean by "there's one born every minute..." I'm happy that you love your new phone. Just don't expect any Banking applications to work with it. More likely Android 7 faked to report as Android 13. https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/242663/how-to-verify-if-device-is-reporting-fake-technical-specs-like-android-version I think you are likely to just continue to make the same mistake, as you refuse to let it sink in. But at least everyone else knows not to waste any further time trying to troubleshoot for you, as you already have your answer.

What about the Samsung A06. when they came out AIS were selling them @ 2,690 for phone only deal, end of last year Android 14,,, The A06 is still on Promotion but at 3,650 baht. so they must be Fake ? as Samsung Thailand has them at 6,999 baht https://www.ais.th/consumers/promotions/special-promotions/clearance-sale?utm_source=web&utm_medium=subherobanner-promotion&utm_campaign=store_olscommu-2025-clearance-sale_jan25 They do Promotions + from time to time Clearance Sales
SMIAI Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Samsung A06 128 GB 4G is listed at 3,299 direct from Samsung Thailand. Between the 2nd of June & 6th of July, 64GB will be 2,690 baht. Please screenshot your proof that Samsung sell it at 6,999 baht. There is a Samsung A06 5G that was released in February of this year. So there is no 'AIS Clearance sale' at all. That's the normal price. Your phone specifications are completely fake and that's why your Banking application does not work. I don't mind if I am wrong. Get the banking application working on your 'new' phone if you can.
SMIAI Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Going back to OALE DBX....that's another phone altogether. https://oalemobilephone.wordpress.com/2021/10/ Let us imagine that it is really an OALE DBX....and quote the OALE DBX specifications of 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. *Android 13 has raised the minimum requirement to at least 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.* How does that compare to the specifications that you quoted earlier? • Display: 7.5 inch HD • Supports all 3G/4G/5G networks • Memory: RAM16GB + ROM 128GB • Network: Support 3G-5G • Camera: 50MP+108MP • Battery: 6800mAh • CPU: MTK6983 Deca core • External storage: Dual SIM, SD • Operating system Android 13.0 Let us be generous in suggesting that they meant the OALE DBX Pro, which has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.... But that still doesn't match with your claimed specification. You can have a wild guess why that is......but I can help you. All faked. Of course you can choose to continue to fool yourself that you know it best. But my suggestion is to not ever do nor enter anything sensitive on that device. I don't believe AIS sold you that phone. I think that you are deliberately misleading us. Show us the invoice with personal information redacted.
