A 15-year-old boy was knocked unconscious at school in Ubon Ratchathani and has yet to receive an apology or compensation. His family shared the incident on social media, noting the attacker was a soldier’s child.

The incident, captured in a video posted on Facebook, shows a student in a red shirt kicking another student in uniform until he collapses. The attack took place on 28th May 2023.

The victim, referred to as 'Tae', described being lured by younger students under the guise of playing sports, only to be assaulted. He suffered cuts and bruises, requiring hospital treatment.

Tae's father stated that no apology has been received from the attacker or their family. Attempts to contact the perpetrator's parents initially met resistance, but discussions may take place once they return from the border.

The school has only addressed the release of the video, with no support offered to Tae. His father is considering transferring him to a school in Sri Sa Ket for safety. The family has filed a police report, and both parties are set to meet for mediation on 28th June.

Isn´t it better to use the law?

It is part of the law,it saves a lot of time and costs in the courts if they can agree amongst each other

how to solve this.

This system should be used in other countries as well,it works.

I have been personally involved in a few cases and i think it can work out very well

There is a mediator involved and doing that takes a lot of skill and knowledge.

They learn cowardly kicking here early.

It ain't cowardly; it's smart. Thai kick boxing is a clue. When I was at school in the 50s the boys who were the best fighters were the sons of " special forces" and had been taught to fight by their dads.

Where Fred is from they just shoot each other.

The most cowardly of all.

What they do here isn't Thai kick boxing. Kicking someone on the ground is the choice of a coward. One who doesn't know how to use his fists and resorts to kicking much like school girls do, because they also don't usually know how to use their hands. I took Taekwondo and know how kicking is used, and what you see on the daily news here isn't kickboxing or a martial art. Most of the times it's used to hurt people who are already on the ground.

No, we fight using our hands, and if they are a bigger opponent that knows how to fight, your legs, just like you see in MMA. Those who shoot others who are innocents are cowards. Those who shoot others who are attacking them or a family member, are righteous. Where you come from, they, like here, use knives because guns are illegal.

True. We don’t need guns.

Stupid statement,  we do need guns for protection and we should be allowed to protect our family, property and ourselves.  These are primeval rights that were stripped from British people decades ago. Now in the uk if you get attacked and defend yourself you will be charged! Heaven forbid you kill someone who breaks into your house intent on rape, murder and robbery!!!
