Changing Retirement Extension to Monthly Income

First of all I would like to apologise to Drjack54 for comments I made earlier this morning.

 

I understand all of what you said concerning seeding etc not being seen by Jomtiem immigration and that the money put in by an agent would only appear in my bank statement for a few minutes.

But this is Jomtiem Immigration where their rules change hourly, and you are quite right they would notice that I had used an agent and that the money had not been seeded, but surely Jomtiem Immigration would have been complicit with the agent in this case, so would know what is going on.

 

I'm not suggesting you are wrong and that they would probably not give me the visa, but who knows until someone has tried it.

After your advice I don't think I'm willing to try it myself.

I don't know, but is there anybody out there who has tried to change to monthly income after using an agent.

As I said I will be seeing my agent next week and will probably continue with the methods I have used previously, my only real concern is my passport not being returned for a few weeks.

I'm in the process of changing from "money in bank method" to "income method"

When my next extension is due I will be showing full compliance with money in bank and ALSO 12 monthly transfers from overseas. 

To do that immigration will check compliance with BOTH options. 

 

Now back to your situation. 

Fact is immigration will see via your bank book that the "money in bank" has not been satisfied. 

 

Previously when folk have asked about switching from agent to DIY my advice is to start over. 

That means obtaining new Non O. 

Messy however one of the problems with using an agent. 

Seems a one way street. 

On top of that from your previous thread it's not clear if you have actually been having monthly  deposits of 65k + from abroad. 

 

BTW: no issue at all. Immigration matters can be so frustrating.

I think I'm nearly there, I cannot check without going to the Bank as I can only check 6 months on my phone. The problem is the fluctuation in Exchange Rate, which has ranged from 41 - 47 Baht to the Pound in the last year, it is presently 44. But I have enough for a Marriage Visa which I may try next year. I think the problem with getting a new Non O is that I believe you need insurance, I don't think any body will insure me at a reasonable price at 72.

Insurance is not required for a Non O based on retirement or marriage. 

Nor required for annual extensions. 

I realize you are focused on the monthly transfers however you have much bigger issues... 

Namely that you have been using an agent.

No worries, I'll just do it year by year, maybe I should have gone the marriage way years ago, but as my funds became depleted, an agent seemed the easy way out, and it was.

And that completes that. 

You do not have an option to DIY apart from start over. 

Bit intrigued by no pp for 3 weeks. 

Almost seems stamps issued up country. 

Do you attend immigration in Jomtien with your agent?

Every year is different, last year visit immigration for photo, go to bank put money in take money out, Pick up passport with visa next day.

Allegedly this year, visit immigration for photo, Agent puts money in bank via phone app, which must be upgraded to allow a million baht transfers, not a big problem. just visit bank with app, I have already done this, Fill in a form ??? Wait 14 days for passport.

Can you please close this thread, I only reopened it to apologise, thanks for the advise, lets see what happens.
