The Israelis never did stop calling it Judea .

Judea is the lands correct name

It was not called Judea for the previous ’3000’ years.

  • Do you have proof of that? Even if true, how could you possibly know, as Israel constantly says, all the numbers we get from Gaza are lies as they are coming from Hamas?   And again even if

It was called Judea for about 200 years and then around 600 years later for another 67 years.

Since then it belonged to Persia, Rome, Egypt and the Ottoman Empire with every period existing longer than Israel ever did.

So according to the Jewish "land owner rules" with which they justify their claim, any Persian, Roman or Egyptian has more rights to claim the land.

Oh, I forgot, none of them was chosen.

   What did he say ?

The Ottoman Empire controlled the region of Judea from 1517 until World War I, ruling it as part of the province of Syria. During this period, the area experienced both periods of stable rule, like under Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, and periods of decline. Jewish immigration increased significantly in the later years of Ottoman rule, and the empire's control ended with its defeat in WWI and subsequent British occupation.

Your history lesson forgets that the Romans renamed Judea into Syria Palaestina in the year 136 after the Bar Kochba revolt and it was called like that ever since.

Jews were not allowed to enter Jerusalem since then for almost 5 centuries until the Muslim conquerors invaded the city and gave them permission and except the time of the crusades the region was Muslim.

However if there is a law, which says, those who had a country in that area first will have the right to a state until the end of times, (which we know there is no such thing) then the Egyptians are the ones.

Radical Israeli settlers injured ten Palestinians in an attack in the West Bank, according to local sources on Saturday.

A woman was hit by a shot from a settler's weapon and is being treated in hospital, the Palestinian Red Crescent aid organization reported.

Several other people were injured in the attack in a village near the city of Bethlehem, three of whom were also taken to hospital, it said.

Why would Herodotus be the definitive source? He lived during the later period of the Achaemenids of Persia. The Persians had already conquered and occupied most of the region. It was Greater Persia by the time he was writing. Prior to their occupation of  Judea, the Persians had defeated the Assyrians and taken the land that the Assyrians had taken from the Kingdom of Israel previously in  the 800's BC.   Later, the Persians sponsored the return of the Jews who the Arabs had exiled after their successive invasions and colonization. In effect the Persians returned the Jews to Judea. This is documented in the historical record and was during the rule of Cyrus, a century before Herodotus was writing his interpretation of events.

They thanked them by having close relations. Sadly the Persians of that era no longer exist. They were ethnically cleansed by  shiite muslims.  Persians were not muslims. They practiced a faith that was more advanced and tolerant than Islam. Once the muslim colonialists took over, the art, music, dance, theater and poetry of the Persians was banned and  artists were mass murdered.  The Iran government of Ayatollahs of today continues that campaign of darkness.

Let's have AI answer your attempt at hate propaganda;

Cyrus the Great was a follower of Zoroastrianism, the official religion of the Achaemenid Empire, though he was also known for his religious tolerance and respect for other faiths. He did not impose Zoroastrianism on his subjects and, as a result, supported and respected the diverse beliefs of the many cultures under his rule, most famously by allowing the exiled Jews to return to Jerusalem.

In that point you are wrong.

They kept their ethnicity, you can easily recognize them by their taller and leaner built, their delicately chiseled bone features and their white and not olive skin, mostly inhabiting the North of Iran around the Caspian Sea and the Alborz mountains and they are still there celebrating some of their traditions, like Chaharshanbe Suri, an ancient Persian festival with origins in Zoroastrianism.. It is a celebration of fire, purification, and renewal that marks the eve of the last Wednesday before the Persian New Year (Nowruz), the most important event for every Iranian.

The tradition includes jumping over bonfires to symbolize leaving behind sickness and negativity for health and vitality.

I still recall the verse which was sung while jumping over the bonfires, mostly 7 or more in a row.

"Zardieh man as to. Sorchieh to as man."

They had bonfires for the adults and a few much smaller ones for the kids. Of course the boys, even when only 12 years old or younger, couldn`t wait to be called a man so they jumped over the "adult" bonfires, regularly burning their trousers driving their mothers crazy, unaware that the lightness of their childhood would be over sooner than they could imagine.

By the way, Persians, despite being forced to convert to Islam do not often use the word "Allah". They have their own word for that.

"Khoda"

What the Arabs never realized and even many Persians have forgotten is the true meaning of that word.

"Khod" means "self" or "oneself" while "a" following a location means "come to" or "come back to".

So basically "Khoda" means: "Return to yourself" or better "Return to your origins" or "Recenter yourself to your roots".

Nevertheless his tomb was disappointingly small.

And Zoroastrians had the habit to place their deceased relatives on towers of silence, where birds would eat them. Not very comforting.

An influential Palestinian activist who featured in Louis Theroux’s BBC documentary about the West Bank has described suffering months of harassment and intimidation by armed Israeli settlers.

Issa Amro, a West Bank community leader recently nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and listed as one of Time magazine’s Time100 Next 2025, says Israeli soldiers are assisting settlers in the attacks and turning a blind eye.

After his home was raided in May, shortly after the release of Theroux’s film The Settlers, Mr Amro believes he is being punished for highlighting the plight of Palestinians in the West Bank.

“It’s a zoo now,” he tells The Independent. “They’re acting as wild as possible.”

To deny that the  Persians of the Zoroastrian faith were not ethnically cleansed is to deny history. As the Islamalic colonizers  moved into Persia they forced conversions and the exodus of those who kept the faith. The destruction of a people  took root during the Rashidun Caliphate when discrimination, harassment and violence against Zoroastrians  was endemic. The muslims destroyed their temples  often changing them into mosques as a means of demonstrating the Islamic dominance or in removing them altogether.  Sound familiar? This is what the muslims did to the Jewish temple in Jerusalem, destroying it and building their Dome of the Rock mosque where the Jewish temple once stood.  They are doing this today in western nations forcing their mosques and practices on civil society. The Muslims penalized nonbelievers with their imposition the discriminatory jizya, a payment required if they were to be allowed to live.

You're right, Zoroastrians were peaceful people. But Muslim conquest does not in any way justify Jewish conquest. Ordinary citizens don't like war.

The solution, of course, is to prohibit the settlers from having weapons. That should balance the scale a bit. Perhaps ban them from West Bank Palestinians, too. The settlers want everywhere to be Israel. Settlements should be disbanded and their inhabitants sent back where they came from. They're invaders not refugees.

Fascinating history, Somjot. Do the Zoroastrians have their own name for Mohammed, too? There's a giant mother cedar being my island house in Canada. The First Nations put their dead on cedar planks in the trees with a few treasured possessions. That's how I want to go. I fed the birds in this life, I want to feed them in the next.

This statement has been cited in accusations of incitement to genocide in South Africa's case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Former UN Ambassador Dan Gillerman In an interview with Sky News, Gillerman expressed confusion over global sympathy for Palestinians, calling them "horrible, inhuman animals who have done the worst atrocities that this century has seen".

Former Deputy Defense Minister Eli Ben-Dahan In a 2013 radio interview, Rabbi Ben-Dahan stated: "To me, they are like animals, they aren't human".

Zoroastrians were not exactly peaceful. Cyrus was an expansionist ruler. Persians were however pragmatically tolerant and as long as they had control, they allowed the subjugated people to exist. Very different  than the Islamic  invaders who destroyed all and forced conversions.

The Jews did not conquer Persia.  In this region, the Jews are from Judea and the Arabs are from Arabia. The Arabs migrated  and colonized areas outside of Arabia. It is the Arabs who are the colonizers.
