Crime Night Market Dispute in Pattaya Escalates into Violent Clash

A heated argument over loud music turned into a chaotic brawl at Pattaya's Threpprasit Soi Market, leaving a clothing vendor hospitalized.

 

Emergency responders rushed to the scene just before midnight on June 25 after reports of a violent altercation between rival vendors.

 

Upon arrival, they found a clothing seller injured, with bruises and a head wound. His attackers had fled the scene. The victim received initial treatment at the market before being transported to a nearby hospital by Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue volunteers.

 

According to the injured vendor, the conflict stemmed from an ongoing feud with a neighboring perfume seller. The victim explained that the perfume vendor had frequently complained about the loud music from his stall.

 

“I apologized and turned the volume down. But then he played his music even louder,” the clothing seller recounted.

 

When he confronted the perfume vendor, emotions ran high. The victim admitted to making a rude gesture the day before, which may have provoked the attack.

“He came back with his friends and attacked me,” claimed the victim.

 

Pattaya police are reviewing a bystander's video and analyzing CCTV footage to identify the attackers. They stated that the investigation is ongoing and promised to ensure justice is served.

 

This incident adds to the list of altercations in the lively seaside party town. Just last month, tourists were shocked by a fight that broke out on Pattaya’s famous Walking Street. On May 17, six Thai women were filmed engaging in a brawl during a rainy early morning, an incident that quickly went viral.

 

Security guards intervened as the scuffle intensified. Witnesses noted that the altercation was fueled by alcohol and disputes over work in the city's competitive nightlife scene.

What difference does it make? There was a fight over music volume. That's the pub of the story! Funnily enough I bought some "snide" aftershave there last week from the nearby Buffalo Market which is the best night market in Pattaya for second hand good. The ONLY market for second hand goods.
