past tense is correct he ruled Cambodia  his position now is President of the Senate of Cambodia, not Prime minister The current prime minister since 2023 is Hun Manet.

Do you really think his son is making these decisions in Cambodia?

Do you really think his daughter is making these decisions in Thailand?

Leaked by Hun Sen. That's how.

Goodbye. You were not liked, you were not voted in, and you had no skill. See ya. Hopefully this is the end of that horrendous family. And hopefully the toxic Army does not get any funny ideas.

A real election is needed and the elites need to respect the results this time.

The elites need to do what now? Just because you said so?

It's way too soon for that sort of free thinking. Maybe the generation after next will get a handle on it but not right now.

Ah and Ive heard (very approximately) it was a lot of sweet talk about:- "anything you want Hun Sen".    Maybe the conversation is on line somewhere?

Despite the suspension, Paetongtarn will retain her position as Minister of Culture, which is not affected by the current proceedings.

She just snatched that position yesterday, obviously she needs to stay in the cabinet while caring deeply about Thai culture...

New Thai Cabinet Finalised: PM Paetongtarn Takes Culture Minister Role

Just wondering, is the Shin family theme song " Leaving on a Jet Plane "  :whistling:

What’s that song ! Yep just remembered “ I’m ( were ) leaving on a jet plane  !!!!!!

How many more Governments and political parties and PM's the CC will fire before Thai people wake up?

I truely hope that the powers that be realise it is time for a change from the Shinawatra influence, for sure the country will benefit from their removal & a new line of thinking is adopted - Fingers crossed !!!!

There is no "new line of thinking", since when did the military and ultra nationalist dinosaurs think of anything new or innovative?

The thinking is you had your vote, you had a - "sort of" elected government for a couple of years, now we are back in charge to put everything back to the way it was.

Not a hope in hell. The Army is firmly back in charge.

I really hope that amidst all this political chaos, they still manage to guarantee that every single weed shop in Thailand has at least one licensed doctor or dentist on site to protect Thailand from these criminals!

Gotta love the timing, government in freefall, but let’s make sure we’re cracking down on people buying a plant without a note from their local orthodontist.

I can see the train coming full speed from miles away and I’ve got my popcorn ready, 🍿

And where will they find an extra 12,000 doctors and dentists?

Oh! What a bugger - looks like the wheels are starting to fall-off.

Not falling off, been taken off and place back on the coup wagon.

As I see it, this Constitutional kangaroo "Court" is only used a a weapon, I have never seen it used for any useful purpose, except to hinder, or remove, power from the government, and make way for another coup.

Not sure how serious this charge is for ordinary Thais. She obviously said the army commander was on the opposite side of the political spectrum (i.e, not a Pheu Thai supporter), but language that critics argue undermines national sovereignty, the military, and the people of Thailand doesn't involve the whole of the military or the entire population of Thailand, let alone sovereignty. Sounds like making mountains out of molehills. Further, it was a private call, so whoever made an audio copy and released it should be let go as untrustworthy.

I believe it was one of the 80 people Hun Sen shared the tape with, who leaked parts of it. Then he leaked it in its entirety.

i think that’s what I read previously.

Actually ALL political parties and ALL the courts need to respect the results, plus the red/yellow shirts, the ultra royalists plus the senate and the house/

Oh they are awake. Didn’t you see the last election results?

Its just the constitution allows 250 or so senators to render the vote meaningless

It's very strange (coming from a Western democracy) to see how much power unelected Courts and quasi-government tribunals have in dismissing government ministers, determining who governs and deciding National policy directions.

Just a vacation.   Crazy Thailand.   Will the people ever get tired of things?

Being in the Thai Government must be like walking on egg shells, terrified of naming or criticising anybody and getting cancelled instantly, these people wouldn’t last 2 minutes in the American or UK Government where everybody is named and shamed on a daily basis , has anybody ever watched Prime Ministers question time in London ? It’s not for the faint hearted !

1 hour ago, MikeandDow said:

And of course Putin and Medvedev swapping the Russian Premiership and Russian Presidency between themselves was fiction and not fact.

Hun Sen is the one making these statements and claims, not his son. Unless of course you are accusing the Khmer Times and pretty much all other media of creating fiction.

It is obvious to a blind and deaf person that Thaksin is the person wearing the Pheu Thai party pants, not his daughter the Prime Minister, and not her cabinet either.

You must be the only farang that does.

Prayuth handled Covid better than just about every Western country. Those of us in Thailand retained more freedom and mobility than did Americans or most Europeans. He also left Immigration pretty much untouched and stable, which is important to me. He didn't put a tax on overseas income or remittances. And anyone who remembers right before 2014, when reds and yellows were throwing ping pong bombs and drive-bys were starting to occur, or even earlier in 2010, when the city center burned, then they'll realize he also stabilized social unrest and may have prevented a civil war.
