Fire Blaze in Manila Displaces Families, Volunteer Firefighters Injured

Despite the swift response, the blaze intensified further, reaching a third alarm by 2:45 p.m. It took until 4:36 p.m. for firefighters to finally declare it extinguished. The rapid spread underscores the challenges posed by properties built with light materials, common in many residential areas.

 

Among the valiant efforts to combat the flames, two young volunteers suffered injuries. An 18-year-old sustained lacerations and abrasions to his left leg, while another volunteer was cut on the nape. Both received prompt medical attention and are reportedly in stable condition. Their dedication serves as a testament to the countless individuals who risk their lives in such emergencies.

 

The fire's aftermath saw approximately 50 individuals displaced from their homes. Local authorities have estimated the damages at around 86,000 Thai Baht (P130,000). Efforts are currently underway to provide temporary shelter and assistance to those affected.
