Trump Sues Wall Street Journal Over Epstein Birthday Letter Claim

Trump's excuses draw comparisons with those made by Bill Clinton and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

I think Trump's sycophants have a sneaking suspicion that it's all true.

Think I've got it......that access you mention above, could then show the malice part?......Correct?

No, they likely could not prove malice, and would likely still lose in court, but they could show the whole thing was phony and the reporting lazy.

If the card is real, I do not think Trump would be suing.

But as I understand the law....the card being fake is immaterial....?????

What is all true, that Trump and Epstein were friends? Everyone already knows that.

That Trump is a womanizer? Everyone already knows that.

Jeez this guy has totally lost it!

His controllers should whisper “it’s ok Mr President. Here’s another book to colour in” whilst they’re changing his diaper.

It’s a given that the far right are low IQ but don’t they realise that the more that he and his keepers deny and deflect Epstein allegations more evidence is spilling into the media to prove (again) what a liar he is.

Before Trump apologists scream “fake news. AI” much of the stuff was recorded 35 years ago.

Donald Trump is unwell.

Because, I think, that would give Trump access to all records and communications that could in any way be remotely related to the action

As the  dictatorial President that he is I am sure he could demand access to all the relevant files anyway and keep it secret assuming he has not already done so!

It is a "catch 22" situation in that if he does not take WSJ to court it is seen as a tacit admission and that full public disclosure in a court is the last thing he wants and he is just trying to use his usual bullying tactics to kill the story.

@Yellowtail Why are you asking me what she said, when you have both written and oral evidence directly from the victim herself? Can you not bring yourself to peruse the evidence?

One of the things states is that, at 13, she had to give him a 'hand job' with a glove on, as no one was allowed to touch his organ without a glove or condom on. She also mentions a 12 year old.

And why should we believe her?

It looks like she shook him down prior to the election and he did not pay, so she dropped it.

Plenty of names I guess but that doesn't mean all those names were involved in what Epstein was doing.

Indeed it does not.

But then, surely, there has been extensive investigations by the justice department in every single one of these persons, because that is what it is supposed to do when hearing of a crime of this magnitude.

There must be literally tons of documents exonerating every single one on the flight list (just as an example). This would especially include Donald Trump, because he is on that list, we know for sure.

Why does he not release these documents exonerating him, at least? It makes him look extremely guilty if he does not even choose this very, very low-hanging fruit to show the public that he was not actively involved in raping minors.

Why didn't Biden's AG take an active stance in locking this reprobate up ?

For me as a non-American it is ovious, that there is a very simple reason for this: they all are on the Epstein client list, be it democratic or republican policy makers. This is, how deep corruption (and corrupted morals) go in American politics.

It should dawn on any American by now, that they are living in a swamp so deep, that there simply is nobody able to govern without having made himself dirty.

What better guarantee for silence than everybody being guilty -- mutually assured destruction.

This still does not mean that the guy sreaming the loudest that he would reelase all the files while he was in the opposition should get away with being a child molester and rapist. They all should be sitting in jail, without exception -- a good place coming to mind would be Alligator Alcatraz -- just an idea...

In the past DT has (reportedly) reaped millions of $$$ in impressively short amounts of time from his small-donation supporters.  I suspect that very soon (like in an hour from now?) he will be using media appearances to beg for donations to his defense fund: support your favorite president, fight the deep state, defeat the Biden crime family, the extreme far-left radicals, the ones causing whales to die of cancer, etc.   The response (or lack of) to the child molester rep would be very telling.  But wait, what if Fox doesn't carry his plea?

Myself, I think this pursuit of kids is heinous.  But I also don't understand the allure these guys have.

It doesn't make any difference, the documents will either be blank or just pages of gibberish, so this whole "release the documents" thing the media is banging on about is just another "here Fido, go chase the stick!" ploy.  It's the same as with questions: him and his will vocally respond but will not give an answer.

Schrödinger's Epstein list.  Simultaneously exists and does not exist depending on whether the conversation is about Democrats or Republicans.

This is the actual headline of the July 17, 2025, WSJ article over which Trump brought his Miami Federal Court complaint:

Jeffrey Epstein’s Friends Sent Him Bawdy Letters for a 50th Birthday Album. One Was From Donald Trump.
The leather-bound book was compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell. The president says the letter ‘is a fake thing.’

It's likely real, which would never stop Trump.  Remember, his modus operandi is the Big Lie--which he continues to fine tune.  He's already been caught out with the letter, lying that he 'never draws'--some of his drawings have been sold at auction.  The $10 billion figure is utterly ridiculous, by the way.  Damage to whatever reputation he still has?  Maybe 10 cents.

From the Federal Court Miami complaint:

PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP an individual
Plaintiff v.

(among others) KHADEEJA SAFDAR an individual

This is from Ms. Safdar's bio on WSJ:

Khadeeja Safdar is an enterprise reporter in The Wall Street Journal’s New York office, where she has worked for more than a decade. She has written about a wide range of issues, including sexual misconduct, corporate governance, workplace discrimination, mental health and consumer safety. She has deep experience handling confidential documents, working with whistleblowers and reporting on survivors of abuse. (my bold)

So now we know what Trump's ego is worth in his own brain - 10 billion $. We also know now that what others think it's worth is 0.16% of that, 16 million $, or rather it's worth 0, that's his threats and pressure that are worth that. Don't think Murdoch, a far more successful business man than Donald would publish something without having an army of lawyers approving it. Just because Donald says something is fake it doesn't mean it is. The man is a proven pathological liar. This will get interesting, especially when the lady who put the folder with the letters together is asked to testify, as well as other women who have letters from Trump with similar drawings that he says he doesn't do. And, of course, then the Pam's vanishing files might also be called in as evidence...

Let's see the letter produced. Then I'll say I was wrong. If it's not and Trump gets a huge pay out be it from a judicial finding or out of court settlement I'll guarantee none of the Trump haters on here will say they were wrong.

I just showed you that Trump is lying, something he does on a daily basis.

Still, you criticise people who don't believe everything Trump is saying, calling them haters for unfounded reasons.

He will be 'retired' at an appropriate moment to be replaced by Vance. We're only 6 months in; the dung heap hasn't smothered Trump yet but it's mounting.

Guess we'll be seeing a retraction AND an apology on the front page as part of the $16B lawsuit settlement. :whistling:

I agree, I think JD is scarier than DT because he will obey the puppet masters and the strings will be quite short.

Pages from the leather-bound album—assembled before Epstein was first arrested in 2006—are among the documents examined by Justice Department officials who investigated Epstein and Maxwell years ago, according to people who have reviewed the pages. It’s unclear if any of the pages are part of the Trump administration’s recent review.

The letter bearing Trump’s name, which was reviewed by the Journal, is bawdy ...

So maybe the leather-bound album after 2006 was carefully stowed away and forgotten until someone maybe leaked it.

So being pro-pederast is now part of being a MAGA supporter?

Are Proud Boys types going to be threatening to rape liberals' kids?

Trump’s lawsuit against Wall Street Journal now has a judge — and it’s not Aileen Cannon
The Obama appointee made history as the first openly gay Black man appointed to the federal bench.

07/21/2025 12:49 PM EDT

President Donald Trump’s bid to take down the Wall Street Journal over its coverage of his connection to Jeffrey Epstein has landed in the courtroom of Darrin Gayles, who is likely experiencing deja vu.

That’s because Gayles, a 2014 appointee of Barack Obama, had another brush with a litigious Trump in 2023, when the then-former president sought to punish his onetime lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen. ...

But as with the Cohen case, there’s an open question of whether Trump’s new lawsuit is more of a political stunt than a serious attempt to litigate the issue. If Trump pursues the case, he would open himself up to answering questions under oath about his connection to the disgraced financier who killed himself in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
