A 23-year-old man known by the alias “Kobori” has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that took place in 2024, during which a female online seller was threatened at gunpoint in her own home in Bangkok’s Bang Khen district.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), along with officers from the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) and Police Division 2, apprehended the suspect, Mr Ananda, in Soi Raewadee 18, Talat Khwan subdistrict, Mueang district, Nonthaburi province.

Mr Ananda was wanted under an outstanding arrest warrant issued by Bang Khen Police Station for the charge of armed robbery. He was listed as the fifth most-wanted suspect in the Royal Thai Police’s 2025 national wanted persons bulletin.

According to police, the robbery occurred in mid-February 2024. Mr Ananda and accomplices allegedly contacted the victim, a woman selling luxury brand watches via Facebook, pretending to be interested in viewing the products at her residence.

Once inside the home, the group drew firearms and knives to threaten the victim and forcefully took valuables before fleeing the scene on an unidentified motorcycle.

Following the incident, investigators launched a detailed inquiry, collecting witness testimonies and tracking the escape route. The suspect reportedly changed residences and cut off communications multiple times in an effort to avoid capture.

However, under the direction of Police General Prachuap Wongsuk, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police and Head of the National Operation Centre for Suppression of Influential Figures and Contract Killers, a dedicated task force managed to trace and arrest Mr Ananda.

The suspect has now been transferred to Bang Khen Police Station to face prosecution. Authorities are continuing to search for the remaining members of the criminal gang.

Police have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on violent and organised crime and bringing to justice those who attempt to evade the law.
