Crime Man Stabbed Multiple Times After Confronting Neighbour Over Loud Motorcycle Noise
Picture courtesy of Kaoded. A 30-year-old man is in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times during a violent altercation with a neighbour in a residential alley in Samut Prakan province. The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the early hours of 25 July in Soi Bang Prok 2, Mueang District. According to police reports from Mueang Samut Prakan Police Station, the victim, Mr. Natthawut Chomngam, had become upset over the loud revving of a motorcycle by a fellow resident of his apartment block. Armed with a baseball bat, he approached the man to confront him about the noise. What began as a verbal exchange quickly escalated into a physical fight, culminating in the suspect drawing a knife and stabbing Mr. Natthawut repeatedly. The victim attempted to flee but fell and was brutally attacked further. He sustained seven stab wounds to the neck, two to his left arm, and one to his left wrist. Emergency responders from Por Teck Tung Foundation and Samut Prakan Hospital provided first aid at the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital. A large pool of blood was found where the assault took place. The suspect, was reportedly intoxicated at the time, fled the scene on a motorcycle. However, he was apprehended shortly afterwards at a police checkpoint by officers from Samrong Tai Police Station. He had a knife wound on one of his fingers and was found to be carrying a knife. CCTV footage from a nearby home captured the harrowing moment the victim attempted to escape before collapsing and being stabbed further. The footage shows the attacker fleeing toward his rented apartment, where officers later found blood stains and the baseball bat used earlier in the confrontation. Witnesses provided varying accounts of the incident. One resident, Ms. “Bee”, who lives in the same building, said she saw the two men arguing and one wielding a baseball bat. “The young man asked, ‘Why are you revving your bike?’ and then they started fighting,” she recounted. She ran into the building as the altercation intensified. Another witness, Ms. Aoom, 51, said she heard the commotion from inside her home. “I saw the stabbing. The injured man fell into a ditch but tried to crawl out. I was afraid and took a video while calling emergency services,” she said. A third resident, Mr. “A”, stated he heard cries for help and saw the suspect fleeing on a motorbike, armed with a knife. “The suspect drinks often but has never caused trouble before. The victim was friendly and well-liked.” Police secured the crime scene and collected evidence. The suspect is currently in custody at Samrong Tai Police Station. Officers have launched a formal investigation and intend to pursue legal proceedings. Adapted by Asean Now from Kaoded 2025-07-26 -
