And pretty much the same was tried 20 years ago and nothing changed. The system installed 20 years ago incuded a push button on a pole right at that zebra marked crossing for pedestrian to push which activated normal 3 colour traffic lights on that spot but cars / vehicles ignored the orange and red lights. Even worse, the push button ws installed top of the head hegight on a 6 foot plus man so it was too high for kids / school kids to reach. At the time a journalist at the introductory press conference mentioned to the Pattaya city engineers who designed the whole system. His response was 'yes the button is high so kids can't play with the system'. Next journalist, 'but kids have to cross the road too especially going to / coming home from school'. engineers response 'it's OK, kids are young and fit they can run between the cars proceeding on that road'. -

National Anthem
I live next to a school, which caters for Kindergarten up to Secondary 4. The day starts with music played over loudspeakers from about 7.30. It depends on who is on the PA system - if it is the boys it is Thai Rap, the girls jolly songs and K Pop, one of the teachers a mix of soupy ballads and rousing patriotic songs. About 8.25 the school march is played and the children all troop out and form up in front of the flagpole. At 0830 the National Anthem followed by some inspirational talks from teachers. From time to time the teacher in charge of scouting, resplendent in khaki shorts, shirt and a beret which could double as a helicopter landing pad throws a hissy fit about the standards of drill and discipline, which the youngsters quite sensibly ignore! Then at about 0845 they all bimble off to their classrooms and the day begins. Thai children, and their schools are quite noisy - but I am used to it and it doesn't bother me, in fact I quite like it! -

yes, and a mediator would listen both side, and show the fakts behind it, what sure some thai dont want to listen. and even if you fight a small war , this helps, thatthe public turning the eyes away from the economic downfall. but in mediumterm both economys suffer more damage in economic terms , and the price hoever paying the poor people
