VAT Refund

Featured Replies

Is it a problem if I am on Retirement Extension and not a tourist visa? Or do the VAT refund people not care as long as I have non-Thai passport?

VAT refund is only for tourists.  If you are not on a tourist stamp, you will not be able to file for VAT refund.

Which should be  the case. But I remember some  years back when I was working on an F visa plus work permit I did get a VAT refund on a laptop.

I have been there twice now with my retirement extension and no problem.

I could see he looked at twice last time but did the processing and gave me the form to sign. No questions

By "there" I guess you mean the airside VAT refund office, the place where they actually give you the cash.

Maybe I should try with my DTV which actually does fall under the tourist visa legislation even if it is not a tourist visa.
