I think you missed my point. The police requirement list was shown to me by the lawyer with Bht 40k income clearly stated...

Now you’ve got me confused and wondering what point I might have missed. Did I not say, with reference to police order 606/2549:

The annual extension for living with Thai wife (paragraph 7.17, clause 6 of the order) requires monthly family income of minimum 40,000 Baht.

But in your post you said you got an extension of 60 days only, which is an entirely different thing. Did you read the two paragraphs of the Police Order I pointed out? Did your lawyer say that for the 60-day extension under paragraph 7.23 the 40k monthly family income is a theoretical requirement? If so, then she is wrong.

...That is why i feel it is worth the money using lawyers to apply for visas and work permits if you're bordering in the grey areas - they know the requirements, they know what requirements are and arenot being applied and they have the rapport with the official behind the desk.

I agree with you that it is useful to use a lawyer. Incidentally, it would be interesting to know, also for other members, how much the legal fee was for the help with your 60-day extension.

Like I said. Soi Suan Phlu main immi office. After queing I was sorted out within 20 minutes. The list was given to me by the actual immigration officer to check I had the necessary documentation with me. If you have all the items on the list then you meet their requirements. They're not difficult to get. There are no "hidden extras" Admittedly if you want to play games with them then go to an upcountry immi office and see if they follow the same set of rules but if you want it nice and simple then Soi Suan Phlu is the answer.

That paper you quote was provided by Immigration at Suan Phlu? The reason I ask, other than it not sounding as if written by Immigration, is that there has never been a need for more than one photo at Bangkok and the bank letter has never had to be on the same day as application so if strictly observed this is a rather large change in policy.

Actually lopburi the paper was given to me at Nong Khai immigration as I was passing through there a couple of weeks previous to my extending at Soi Suan Phlu. Bit of a typo on my part. Should have read "an immingration officer" not "the". Sorry! The paper does actually say bank balance on the day of extension but my balance was a couple of days before extending and Bangkok immi didn't mind. The reason I came to Bangkok instead of Nong Khai to extend is a friend of mine in exactly the same position as me went to Nong Khai and, shall we say for the sake of politeness, despite him having every piece of paperwork they required as per the list, they were a little "unreasonable"

You are confusing the fact that i said i got a 60 day visa with the (general) advice given by my lawyer, which i reiterate was, while there is a list of requirements, sometimes it is strictly applied and soemetimes not.

The legal fee was, based on my 16 years of using lawyers here, expensive, but then my circumstances are a tad difficult.
