The Royal Thai Navy has released a set of four key guidelines for civilians to follow in the event that Thailand enters a state of war or faces a severe national security crisis. The advisory, issued ton 26 July, urges citizens to remain calm, informed and actively supportive of national defence efforts.

The Navy emphasised that civilians play a vital role in supporting the armed forces and ensuring national stability. The four recommended guidelines are as follows:

1. Be Informed – Stay Disciplined

The public is urged to follow updates only from official and reliable sources, particularly those issued by the military. Citizens are advised against spreading unverified information or engaging in the circulation of fake news. Moreover, the Navy stressed the importance of refraining from sharing operational details related to military movements, in order to safeguard strategic security and protect personnel.

2. Watch, Report and Support

Civilians are encouraged to act as the eyes and ears of the authorities by reporting suspicious individuals, objects, or activities. Cooperation during security checks and search operations is essential in maintaining public safety and preventing potential threats in local areas.

3. Conserve Resources – Strengthen the Nation

During times of conflict, conserving energy and natural resources is crucial. Citizens are encouraged to minimise waste and support energy efficiency, which helps reduce national vulnerabilities and ensures long-term resilience both at the individual and national level.

4. Support Logistics Wisely

In cases where the public wishes to support the military through donations, the Navy requests that only essential supplies, such as medicines and medical equipment, be provided. Donations should be delivered to designated government collection points to avoid confusion and to ease the logistical burden of sorting and transporting unnecessary items.

The Royal Thai Navy concluded by stating that public cooperation is a vital force in preserving the nation’s independence and ensuring its continued security during turbulent times.
