A 27-year-old speedboat tractor driver was left in critical condition after being run over, by his own vehicle on Jomtien Beach Road on the morning of 6 August.

The incident occurred at the speedboat ramp, along Jomtien Beach Road. Rescue services from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rushed to the scene following reports of a serious injury involving a tractor.

Upon arrival, rescue personnel found Mr. Monrak Kaewngam, the driver of the tractor responsible for hauling speedboats in and out of the sea, lying unconscious and struggling to breathe. He had sustained severe chest trauma and was bleeding profusely from the mouth. Emergency responders provided immediate first aid before transporting him to Hospital.

Investigations at the scene revealed that a blue tractor had surged forward unexpectedly, colliding with a private ambulance on standby nearby for a rowing competition. The force of the impact shattered the ambulance’s front bumper and headlights.

According to eyewitness accounts, the victim had started the tractor engine and attempted to inspect the gearbox, which appeared to be malfunctioning. Without switching off the engine, he climbed down and looked beneath the vehicle. Suddenly, the tractor lurched forward with force, crushing him entirely beneath its wheels. It then continued on, smashing into the parked ambulance before coming to a halt as the engine stalled.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
