A 35-year-old man with a string of fraud convictions has been arrested for deceiving multiple victims by claiming he could secure them teaching jobs through high-level political connections, for a hefty fee.

 

Officers from Muang Buriram Police Station, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Suchart Wichasawat and Police Colonel Chamrat Siriliang, executed an arrest warrant issued by the Buriram Provincial Court (No. 220/2568, dated June 20, 2025). The suspect, identified as Mr. Plaphon “Kee” Klomlee, a local resident, is charged with impersonation, fraud and forging and using fake official documents.

 

According to the investigation, Mr. Kee posed as a government official and claimed he could use his alleged connections with senior political figures to secure civil service teaching posts. He demanded payments ranging from 800,000 to 900,000 baht per person for “processing fees”.

 

Seven victims from across Buriram Province fell for the scam, transferring a total of over 6 million baht. When questioned, Kee confessed to the crime, claiming he initially went along with the scam due to someone else initiating contact, but continued once others approached him, drawn by the easy income.

 

“I knew it would catch up with me eventually,” Kee reportedly told officers. “I want to apologise to all the victims, especially my wife and child. I’ve done wrong. When I get out of prison, I will change. But I’m not sure my wife will wait for me.”

 

Police checks revealed Kee was already facing seven other similar fraud cases and had previously been arrested. He is currently awaiting trial for those offences.

 

Authorities are urging any additional victims to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
