he Sabu Disk, unearthed from the tomb of the ancient Egyptian official Sabu in the Saqqara necropolis during the First Dynasty (circa 3100-2900 BC), has intrigued archaeologists and researchers for nearly a century. Its shape and purpose remain a topic of heated debate, with some suggesting that it served as a ceremonial object, while others propose that it may have been a functional tool used in the brewing of beer, an essential part of ancient Egyptian life.

One compelling theory suggests the Sabu Disk as a mash rake for brewing beer, a hypothesis brought to light by the study published in SCIRP (2022), titled The Tri-Lobed Disc in the Tomb of Sabu and the Basins at the Sun Temple Were for Beer by Akio Kato. This perspective provides a fascinating lens through which we can reconsider the role of brewing in ancient Egyptian rituals and daily life.

So, nothing alien about it?

No, nothing at all.  The Sabu Disk was discovered in 1936, so it's been known to Egyptologists for a long time.  Another possible explanation is that it was used as a oil lamp.

Not as such....the amazing aspect is the fact 'someone' has managed to fashion the whole thing from one piece of a very brittle material.....schist.

They took that right off an old Saab. I believe it is from the Saab 9000 CDE.
