Australian Man Arrested for Smuggling 4.26 kg of 'Ice' Through Suvarnabhumi Airport

Thai authorities arrested a 68-year-old Australian traveler at Suvarnabhumi Airport after detecting 4.26 kilograms of methamphetamine (“ice”) cleverly concealed in luggage and soap bars—worth an estimated 1.28 million baht. The seizure resulted from a coordinated effort between Customs, the Airport Interdiction Task Force, the ONCB, and the NSB, using intelligence and X-ray screening. The arrest was recorded under multiple violations of Thailand’s Customs Act related to unauthorized narcotics export and possession. This incident adds to the growing list of drug busts in the current fiscal year.
