A 56-year-old man was found dead in a flooded rice field in Nong Bua Subdistrict, Mueang Chanthaburi District, after reportedly attempting to reach a doctor during flooding.

The body of Mr. Amphorn, a resident of Kalasin Province, was discovered near Wat Noen Yang, Pa Bamrung Village, by Sawang Katanyu rescue volunteers at 09:00 on 19:August, following a report from local police. Access to the scene required a high-clearance vehicle, and the body was found approximately one kilometre from the temple.

Mr. Amphorn was last seen leaving his home two days earlier while suffering from a severe cough with blood, after returning from work spraying herbicides in a fruit orchard. His wife stated that he intended to seek medical attention despite the floodwaters, but he never returned. When the water subsided, she discovered his body but was unable to move it due to the conditions and the absence of neighbours.

Neighbours confirmed that heavy rainfall three days prior had caused floodwaters to rise to waist height in the area. The body showed early signs of decomposition. Police and rescue workers later recovered the body for further examination.

Authorities have indicated that no foul play is suspected at this stage, but are waiting autopsy results.
