A dramatic late-night police chase ended with a car crash and a drug seizure in Maha Rat District, Ayutthaya Province.

Police from Muang Ayutthaya Station, led by Police Lieutenant Prajak Chumyen, were patrolling the area along Wat Tan 7 Cho Road when they spotted a suspicious car parked at the roadside. Officers activated their flashing lights to conduct a search, but the driver sped off, prompting a pursuit.

The chase ended when the car driver lost control and came to a stop after crashing near a residence opposite Wat Pho Prasit. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into the nearby woods, with police firing shots at the suspect. Police believe the suspect is a local resident familiar with the area.

A search of the Honda Civic revealed the following seized items:

• 2,020 methamphetamine tablets

• Crystal meth (ice) weighing 1.9 g

• 12,000 baht in cash

• Two mobile phones, which were still receiving calls during the inspection

The car sustained rear-end damage in the chase, after being rammed by the police pickup and has been impounded along with the confiscated items. Authorities are continuing efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect to face legal proceedings.
