How you drink your morning coffee could increase your risk of cancer by up to SIX times

 

Your daily coffee habit could increase your risk of cancer up to nearly six times, startling research suggests. 

 

A study published earlier this year by researchers from the National Cancer Institute found that someone who drank eight or more cups a day of very hot tea or coffee was 5.6 times more likely to develop esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), compared to someone who didn't drink hot drinks.

 

Researchers used data from more than 500,000 participants included in the UK Biobank, who provided information around their consumption of hot drinks. 

 

Having up to four cups of 'very hot' liquids a day increased the risk of ESCC by 2.5 times. Four to six cups of very hot liquids carried a 3.7-times higher risk of the cancer, and six to eight cups was associated with 4.8-fold increased risk.

So it's not only coffee,all very hot liquids. 

 

Maybe the heading of the topic should read..... How you drink your coffee and Tea could increase your risk of cancer. 

 

Anyway, I'm a believer, if you were born with poor genes, a cancer will get you sooner, rather than later.

This research doesn't seem to show causation.

If the headline says "xx% more likely to die if you eat this or do that", then I'm not reading the article. Didn't even read this article so I don't know what the controversy is, but only a numpty would believe that how you drink your coffee will affect your longevity.

 

What's next - Experts believe tying shoelaces left-over-right instead of right-over-left will extend your life - jury still out regarding slip-ons.

Strange considering when im not feeling well, hot drinks do the trick rather than iced drinks which makes my throat worse
