Two brothers died after their motorcycle was struck by a hospital patient transport van on 21 August at a junction leading to Ban Huai Yae on Highway 225, Chaiyaphum–Nakhon Sawan, in Wang Takhé subdistrict, Nong Bua Rawe district, Chaiyaphum province.

The white van, operated by Phakdee Chumphon Hospital and registered in Chaiyaphum, was driven by 50-year-old Teerasak Khunmang. At the scene, the motorcycle, a Honda Wave i, was found overturned and badly damaged. The victims, 60-year-old Saita and 50-year-old Thaworn, who were brothers, were critically injured. Medical personnel from the van and Nong Bua Rawe Hospital administered first aid before transferring them for treatment.

According to the van driver, he was transporting a patient from Phakdee Chumphon Hospital to Chaiyaphum Hospital when the motorcycle came onto the main road from Ban Huai Yae, without looking, leading to the collision.

Despite efforts to save them, both brothers succumbed to their injuries. Authorities conducted a detailed examination of the scene and have begun a formal investigation to determine the circumstances of the crash and establish responsibility.

The victims’ bodies were handed to their family for funeral arrangements, while police continue to investigate the incident.
